A/N: This is going to start off with a major time skip because the first 5 weeks of school were basically that same and also I'm not going to go into a whole lot of detail for the classes because it's kind of boring.
✨TIME SKIP✨
The last five weeks of school have been pretty uneventful. I didn't see Denis at all. I think what I said really bruised his ego which is what I was trying to do. Today is the last day of school before harvest break. The bus is so crowded and I am forced to sit next to Stacy. The last thing I wanted to do though is sit with some random kid that I don't even know. All we have been doing in band is playing our game band music which I kind of hate. They may be fun but I still don't really know how to play them. The alto saxophone parts are low, fast, and difficult so it is definitely something new.
When I arrive at school I go straight to my homeroom to go see Arlene. My bus came late as fuck but usually it doesn't and I have time to go to Nancy's room but I don't today. "Hey Arlene, I was almost late." I roll my eyes. My bus driver is the worst and I can't wait until I get my license so I don't have to take the bus anymore.
"Yeah I know, you have one minute until the warning bell rings."
Homeroom goes on like normal and so does the rest of the day. When I get to my last class before lunch I check my iPad for any emails I might have been sent. I see one from my boss from the summer Henry Woods. It says that we start work tomorrow at 8 a.m. That is a bunch of bullshit. Homecoming is tomorrow too so I have to go work a day picking apples and then go to homecoming right after. I'm gonna take a fat nap when I get home.
When the last bell of the day finally rings I am jubilant. I can't stop thinking about how working harvest will be though. I'm not excited and I really just don't want to but I'm going to anyway. I could use the money and my friends are doing it. I walk around the school making my way to the cafeteria to wait for my bus. Gina isn't taking the bus today so I just put one of my AirPods in and pick the perfect Taylor Swift song. When my bus gets called I rapidly walk out the door and climb the stairs of the bus.
✨TIME SKIP✨
I once again wake up to my alarm blaring through my bedroom. I should not be having to wake up at 6:30am when I don't even have to go to school. I pick up my phone to turn off my alarm and I have a message from Gabby; I'm not going to work today but I'll be there on Monday. This day already sucks and now Gabby isn't going to be there.
I stand up groggily with my eyes half open and walk over to my walk in closet. I grab a pair of non ripped jeans and my work shirt from the farm which is huge on my but it doesn't matter because I have to wear it anyway. I slowly walk into my bathroom and set my clothes on the counter top. I put my password into my phone and open the weather app. It is currently 40 degrees outside and also wet because it rained last night so I'm going to be freezing.
I swiftly get undressed and turn the shower on. I hop in and immediately feel warmed after being cold from the chilly weather. I wash my hair, my face, and my body and then turn the shower off. I feel cold once again as soon as I step out. I realize that I left the door open but fuck it nobody is awake. I shut the door anyway incase Stacy wakes up and wrap a towel around my body. I tie my hair up so it is out of the way when I brush my teeth. I dry off and get dressed before putting a little mascara on just so that I look like I'm alive. After all of this it is already 7:15 so I rush out of my bathroom into the kitchen.
I'm only working part time today so I don't bother packing a lunch but I do fill my water bottle and I grab a snack. I put a breakfast sandwich into the microwave and go to wake up my mother. "Mom, I have to leave in like twenty-five minutes can you drive me?" Being 14 sucks I still can't drive for another 2 years and if I want to go somewhere I either have to walk or beg somebody for a ride.
"Ok Gwen. I'll be up in a few minutes. Just come get me up in like twenty minutes and I'll drive you." My mom mumbles quietly. I walk back out into the kitchen to eat my breakfast sandwich and see that I have a missed call from Gabby. I unlock my phone and go into Snapchat to see what that's all about.
"Gabby what do you want? I'm trying to get ready for work. I know you aren't busy today why aren't you going to work? You're ditching me, this is like the worst job in the world and I have to go do it myself." I roll my eyes even though I know she can't see me.
"Girl, I know you just rolled your eyes at me." How does she know!? "Also I know you're getting ready for work I just wanted to say have a good day. Also I'm not coming because homecoming is tonight and I'm going and I don't want to go to work before."
"I'm going to homecoming too and I'm still going to work. I'm only working part time today anyway. You should just come to work, my mom told me she can bring you everyday because you're on the way and I'm going anyway."
"I'm not going because I just don't want to go today. Also I never told my mom that I'm working this harvest so..." That is so Gabby she never tells her mom anything. "Ok I'm gonna go, you have to get to work. I'll see you tonight though. Have fun!"
I walk into my parents bedroom to get my mom up and she takes me to work. She lets me sit in the car for like five minutes before I get out because we are a little early. I am contemplating whether I should go in there or not but I finally decide that I really need the money if I am going to buy a laptop and I'm only gonna be here for four hours it's not like I'm staying a full day.
A/N: The next chapter should be better because it starts to get more interesting.
