I wonder where we're going. It's probably going to be cold. Why am I trusting Sam this much? Should I? I mean she seems fine and I got free popcorn so she's probably alright.
"Are you okay climbing over things?" Sam ask me with her eyes staring at me like marbles.
"Err... Yeah but I am wearing a dress so no looking" I reply
"Okay, I promise. I'm pre-warning you the place I'm taking you will blow you mind because it's just so peaceful yet stunning. I go there when need time to think and get away from the world"
"Fair enough. Let's go then." I stand there waiting for Sam to open the back door. She's taking ages – I suppose I can look around whilst she's opening it.
The kitchen (where the back door is) is fairly clean, mugs are sprawled across the counter however plates stacked in such neat piles. And a bowl full of apples there's green ones, red ones, and in-between ones. Picking up two random apples to take with me I notice a picture on the side of a woman. Is that Sam's mum? It looks like Sam with branches of long blonde hair being blown by the wind.
I stare at it for a few minutes more until Sam taps me on the shoulder and looks at what I'm staring at and takes it within a few seconds. Damn she must possess master ninja skills. A cool breeze hits my face as I turn around, I shiver before walking outside. I look around the garden it's not much, I don't think it really is a garden because it's just a patch of grass with no fencing.
"Yeah this isn't a garden it's a space where everyone shares around here, its gets annoying but you learn to ignore people after a while" Sam says whilst shrugging then she realises the back door is still open so she mimes saying shit and runs to close it. I start walking around inspecting every piece of grass and get bored so I start following Sam.
We walk for a while into the trees and occasionally squeeze through them. Finally we get to a wall about half my height that Sam jumps over easily. I'm not going to get over the wall that easily – I accept my fate of this ending badly. I put one leg over then the other and get up to find muck all on my knees. Sighing I walk on Sam giggling at the mess.
Whilst we are walking to this 'amazing place' I can't stop thinking about how weird this night has gone in addition to that I'm ending it with a stranger at a place I don't even know about. And that's when I realise: Sam and I are going to be really good friends. I've never really had a good friend since I get bored easily so I move on but there's something about Sam that just makes me intrigued. Mum and Dad will be happy, I suppose, but I hope they won't become obsessed with her like they did with Zoe. Zoe moved and left me all alone to deal with all the other girls – I feel angry at her but nothing could have stopped her moving away. Life does these annoying and inevitable things to me and I'm yet to discover why...
I hear Sam say something like "almost there" which causes me to jump back into reality and nearly fall over a rock.
Why high heels? Why?
I decide to take my high heels off because the ground is starting to turn into sand. Suddenly I look up to see a pitch black canvas with sprinkles of light around me. Looking down I see waves slowly moving reflecting the canvas. My mouth is wide open as a gaze at this spectacular scene. I wriggle my toes to feel grains of sand already sandwiched between my toes. I turn to look at Sam on a massive flat rock laying the blanket on and getting tucked in. I climb the obstacle that is the ROCK! I get under the blanket and stare at the sky. I'm glad the blanket is big because I wouldn't have been able to squeeze in with Sam.
