"She should almost be done with the ritual... I'm gonna head upstairs to grab my bag, will you be okay?" You pat Andrew's head while standing in front of him and he nods, not looking up at you. "You keep the cleaver, I'll be back." You exit the room after looking back at him, your heart feeling heavy with him not joining you.
With slow and light steps, you soundlessly make your way to the apartment that will soon be vacant. Not that being silent mattered, you still hear the music next door. The somber atmosphere consumes you as you go into their parents room where you knew Andrew hid your stuff. You ignore the guilt with every bottle you take, holding them in your arms you scurry to Andrew's bed to put them in your bag and rearrange everything to be hidden.
The music stopped. You almost go outside to join Ashley walking back but you decide it'd be better not to.. But then again, you didn't want Andrew alone with her. It's best to wait outside in case. The freezer stayed full, you think of how to dispose of the limbs. How to dispose of everything. "Everyone would have to die.." You talk to yourself, looking over every surface for a hint on how to do it.
Until you laid your eyes on the stove. "It might work.. If...." You look more, going through holiday boxes to find halloween stuff. You find the glow in the dark paint you bought to decorate last year, smiling and grabbing every color you see and using your fingers to spread it all over the cabinets and floor, getting below the freezer and every room. Your hand now looks neon, covered in almost every color imaginable and you set the stove on low. It'll take a few days maybe. You wipe most of the color with a dirty towel, not caring for it.
With your plan, you put on your backpack and head back to the third floor to hear yelling coming from the dead lady's room. "...Screw you, Ashley! I almost got shot too!" ... "...God, I can't believe what a dumbass you are when it comes to women..." You step closer, able to differentiate the voices between the two. "For the last time, I wasn't trying to get with her! And even if I had, which I didn't, so what!? She's dead now." The same argument, as always. You know this time it'll lead to something more so you push the door open slightly, "Oh, okay! That makes it fine then! Good to know!" Andrew tugs his hair, his face red. Moving carefully, you step inside and close the door behind you.
"God, I hate it when you get like this. What's your problem!? Fucking every time." The boy covers his eyes, his actions being sharp and quick. "Every time indeed! Every time some fucking floozy comes around-!!" Ashley only pries at him more, completely missing his point of irritation, "Yeah. I'm not celibate. What's it to you!?" "It's always the same with you! You get to dip your dick in some bitch, and the rest of the world disappears!" You sit on the counter closest to Andrew, used to hearing their arguments but since the quarantine all three of you have gotten used to you sitting in on them too, you've claimed it's realer than TV. "Not true." "Yeah it is, cockbrain!!" "Now is definitely not the time for this..." "I just need you to get your priorities straight!!" "My priority right now is getting us out of here, that should be EVERYONE'S priority." You shrug, nodding to show you agree.
"Your priority should be ME!!" Ashley screams at him, her hands balling into fists as she throws one of her tantrums, the routine repeating each time she doesn't have his attention. "Blow it out of your ass! I'm not having this argument here of all places." "I-!!" His sister begins to speak, but he removes his hands from his face, waving them before they fall to his sides, "NO!! Shut up! I didn't screw the neighbor lady. And on that note, will you back the fuck off of my love life, Ashley?" "What's that supposed to mean?" "Ohh, I don't know... It's not like my girlfriend dumped me after you harassed the hell out of her, or something." There it is, you've been too scared to ask.
