Chapter vocabulary
Finally: ΤελικάI think it's fair to give the villains a chance, too. What if Ursula was shamed for her voice before and was just jealous? Wouldn't you be too if someone had everything you could ever want? What if Mother Gothel was just projecting how she was raised? What if Mother Gothel went through the exact same thing? What if, what if, what if?
She left without a sound, without a regard for anyone but herself. This place was stupid, expecting her to be some sort of God. Who in the world did they think they were?
Yet, why was she so horribly affected by those feeble words? Why was she asking so many questions? Eris was never safe no matter where she went so she gave up on that feeling.
The only place she could rest – the field. It was like a chaotic battle ground that she specifically enjoyed. Her footsteps echoed through the corridor till she finally reached it.
Starting of easy, she put it at the lowest. Was there a point in life her skill was ever classified as lowest? Was there? Even the girl herself was unaware of the answer to that question. Eris had always been the definition of perfection. A figure he perfectly carved.
It because a one versus eleven. Defenders raising, strikers appearing and they indeed had skill. Τελικά. A small smile of satisfaction on her face as she played. It was challenging, perfect.
Eris stayed in there for hours with the programs, scoring, winning, losing but the good type of loss. Eventually, after some hours she fell, collapsing with a heavy breath but a happy face. So perfect.
Until, the door cracked open and her smile exiting before the boy could even take notice of it.
This was a new face, a nice one at that. The boy too looked just as shocked to see her there. Black hair that is somewhat upwards. A broad and muscular physique.
Also the one who previously crushed Eris's team.
"Shoei Barou."
He looked at her questionably. Wondering how she knew his name or how she knew anything at all. It however didn't take that long to remember that she was the one guiding the figured he crushed. He reigned over those peasants like a true king.
It was uncomfortable for him. The wa her eyes shifted over every inch of his body, analyzing. His body language, criticizing. All of that made him extremely uncomfortable. None of it made him feel safe.
Unsafely, something Amartía has grown used to in all the years of her life. Something even Barou could have been used to. The funny thing is, we know nothing about any of these people but we would all love and obsess over them.
"Eris Vasílissa." She nodded in confirmation that that was indeed her name. Offended that he had to even confirm but uncaring nonetheless. She had bigger problems to deal with. "Your team is just dog shit." She nodded along to his words. Unkind as it was, she agreed with his brilliant deduction. "My team? For what reason do you believe them to be mine? Why do you act as if I claim them so eagerly. I don't own any pets, only puppets."
"Ah, listen, King? Yes, that was it. You know, a king's reign doesn't last forever. They often get overthrown by those lesser than them. You're exactly like Cronus. Afraid."
The boy, the man, flinched at her words. She clearly had a way with them, a way to impact people. The right comparisons, the right things to use. Their weaknesses just by one quick glance at them.
Only one thing. One thing is all she ever needed to destroy a person, mentally at least. It doesn't have to be anything big, simply by how they subtly act. The little things nobody really pays attention to are all the little things she notices.
In most cases, it's a sweet thing but never with her. It's never sweet with her. She's the villain, the offspring of the devil. Why would she ever be sweet?
Barou swallowed his spit, and a mixture of his pride seemed to have exited his body, but still, he was full of anger.
"Fuck you, Vasílissa."
He was growing some sort of dislike for this woman. Calling out his flaws weaknesses and shaming the like some heartless bitch. Like an antagonist.
It's possible for the protagonist to be the story's antagonist, you know?
Extremely possible, and not too rare either.
Her mouth could not speak because she saw no reason to. He stood there as she inched closer than ever. In a way, the proximity inconvenienced him. He didn't know how to handle such things. He didn't know whether he craved the feeling of his hands gently caressing her cheeks or for his palm harshly interacting with her face. He didn't know. She made his breath become unsteady in such a manner than was deemed unhealthy. He felt as if the devil himself had possessed him. He should have known that entangling with divinity was opening Pandora's box. He should have known, truly. But he didn't.

He should have known whether he craved her or loathed her.Chapter end ↑↑
Story briefing ↓↓
Nobody has any idea about problems with Eris and all expect a little too much from her.
In society, she's seen as some sort of Goddess and nobody has ever thought of her as a normal human with feelings before, not even herself.
She's often jealous of those with normal lives but doesn't want to admit it because she sees it as pathetic.
Eris is extremely scared of her 'father'; the only person who can affect her that badly so she often panics but hides it with her expression.
Ego is becoming wary of her himself and is a little concerned of who he put in charge of his gems.
Vasílissa compared Barou to Cronus, who defeated his father and became the strongest of the titans. Who later had children and was afraid of being overthrown by them just like he overthrew his own father, Uranus. Which is why Cronus swallowed all his kids (killing them).
The reference to Cronus is also saying that Barou will be overthrown by others just like how Cronus overthrew his father and how Zeus overthrew Cronus.
The comparison of opening Pandora's box comes from the Greek myth as when Pandora was sent down purposefully to open the box. She was told not to because the God knew she would open it. The second that box was no longer enclosed, neither was the hellishness of humanity.
