Author POV:

The vegetable garden was teeming with life. 

"Aoi-chan, come look!" Nene waved over her purple-haired friend excitedly. "The strawberries! They've matured!"

"Wow!" Aoi smiled. "Good job, Nene! You should harvest them now, before it gets rotten."

Nene beamed down at the red fruits she had planted before her. When Aoi had left to go look at the cabbages, she looked over her shoulders and whispered to him, "Look at the strawberries."

He laughed. It was possibly the best sound she'd ever heard. "Yashiro, look at Akane's strawberries. They're much bigger."

"Ah- ah- hmph!" Nene folded her arms as she looked at Akane's strawberry patch. "That's- that's only because Aoi-chan said she liked strawberries, you know!"

Hanako laughed again. "He would do anything for her."

"I'd do anything for you too." Nene smiled down at her strawberries. "Even if you don't realise it."

Hanako hugged her from behind. "I couldn't forget it, Yashiro. What do you say we explore that new boundary tonight?"

"First we make strawberry donuts."

Narrator: And so they went on, to be together through more endless adventures and dangers that await them. They might never remember what had happened to them before, and they might never recover the horrible truth of it all. But something had changed; the point of history was to never repeat it. And Yashiro Nene and Hanako would never do what they had done before again, because now they knew...

She was his and he was hers.
