Uni is hard for anyone, even more so for those who work a full time job and still attend those fifteen hours of classes. Jungkook knew what he was getting into when he applied for the courses. He wanted away from home. He also knew that a scholarship would not cover all of his fees so he'd have to work.

He needed the extra money to cover his textbooks and living expenses.

His dream was to get into a good school and start his dream to become a doctor. He got used to tending to his own wounds when he'd get hurt when he was little. As he got older, he tended to be the one who would take care of his friends that got hurt too. The body had always fascinated him, wanting to learn more about it. When he entered high school, he was slapped in the face with a good bout of depression and anxiety. He remembers the suffocating feeling, squeezing his lungs as he tried to breathe through his nose. 'Calm down. Breathe. You don't have time for this right now.' The common mantra he told himself to make it through the four grueling years of high school.

The bad boy persona formed itself with that. He tried to keep people pushed away, not wanting to open up to anyone of how much he's hurting. Of how much he wants to be held and be told it's okay. He's bottled that all up for years.

So he knew what he was getting into.

Until freshman year of uni, that is. He meets someone who makes him want to show a little more of himself. The heart shaped smile, the beautiful laugh and different colors of hair dye. Jungkook finds himself tripping over more words and his heart fluttering more often. Jung Hoseok is three years older than him, working on his own degree to go into the medical field. The same profession that Jungkook is interested in.

So, when he starts struggling in some of his classes, one of his new friends tells him to speak to the older one. Hoseok was known to help other students out, picking up a few tutoring jobs here or there. Jungkook had to gather up some courage to even speak to the sunbae. He remembers clearing his throat and dusting the front of his shirt for imaginary crumbs before approaching the older.

Hoseok was just finishing up helping a student when he turned to face Jungkook. His eyes widen in surprise, seeing the younger but he still smiles nonetheless. "How can I help you, Jungkook-ssi?"

The younger man flushes, looking down at his hands. Hoseok chuckles a little, knowing that the leather jacket and bad boy image was for show. He lifts a hand up, tapping the younger's chin and has the boy look up at him. "I don't bite, Jungkook. Are you needing help in some of your classes?"

Jungkook nods, shyly.

Hoseok smiles softly and the two start talking, the older one leading him over to some desks. They both sit, working out a schedule that will work the best for the younger. When they finish up, Hoseok asks for the younger's number and they agree to message each other later. Jungkook was beyond excited at the thought, absolutely brimming at the edges with thrill. Hoseok can't help but internally coo at him, shooing him off for the day.
