i head back to my hotel room after finishing up the media and after race interviews. i walk up to my room and slump on my bed, my head was pounding after todays events. just as im untying my shoe lace, my phone starts buzzing like mad vibrating my bedside table. i groan as i lean over the bed to grab it. i look down to see lando calling me.

"hi bella" the boy says, i can hear his smile through his voice.

"what have u done now" i say laughing lightly.

"nothing actually thank you very much" he says pretending to be offended.

"i just wanted to ask if u would like to go out for dinner. the whole grid is going tonight for a get together to celebrate the first race of the season or something like that"

"oh yeah, that sounds like fun" i say back to him. "what time are they thinking?" i questioned.

"in about an hour" i jump off the bed and scramble to my suitcase.

"guessing thats a yes" lando suggests as he heard me franticly looking through my clothes.

"ill make an appearance" i say back to him.

"okay good, ill pick you up at 7" lando says smiling, again.

"alright, sounds great. see u in a sec mate"

"ceya soon bels" lando says before hanging up the phone

i finish curling my hair and put on my black converse to match my short, shimmery dress and blackish grey denim jacket.

i quickly check everything in the mirror one last time. as im fixing my hair, i hear a knock on the door, already knowing who it is.

"are you all ready?" lando asks poking his head round the door. his head and curly brown hair peaking round the corner. he came through the door and plonked himself on my bed.

"yea im nearly ready hold on.." i say walking into the bathroom putting on some last sprays of perfume,

i walk back through the door, picking up my phone as i walk over to lando who has my coat in his hands.

"lando im not wearing my coat as well as my denim jacket" i say standing resting one hand on my hip.

"bels, its freezing out their mate" he says looking at me in my short dress "you will freeze to death, especially later on"

i just stare at him blankly.

"but.." i say

"buttttt" he says back, as he walks over.

"it doesnt match my outfit" i say whining at him, as he holds it up behind me.

he just laughs at my comment.

"ugh fine" i say as i put my arms throught the arm holes as lando holds it.

"you actually act like a child some times." he says holding the door open as we both walk out of my hotel room, i lock it behind us and we make our way out.

"ayyy the amigos have arrived" daniel shouts as me and lando enter the restaurant. everyone cheers as we finally arrive.

"fashionably late as always"

"yeah i wonder why, definitely not because someone had a fit and didn't want to wear their coat" lando says walking up to the table "not sure tho" he says sitting down, still smiling at me.

i sit down inbetween daniel and lando. everyone was talking about the race and how it went.

"oh, well done by the way romano" says daniel as we were all talking about the race. "you look so natural when u drive" daniel says giving me a compliment. everyone agrees with him.

"thanks danny" i say toasting my pint on lemonade to him.

"keeping on the topic of bella" carlos starts "how does it feel to be the only woman on the grid?" he says smiling politely.

"well i don't know..." i say "i can definitely say i feel protected" i say say chuckling. everyone laughed with me.

i love being the only female and the grid. everyone treats me like their little sister and we are all one big family. i love them all very dearly. i'm very lucky to be in the position i am in today. not many women get the chance to race in f1, hopefully i am paving the way for many girls in the future of motorsport.

as we all finish our food everyone keeps talking. i was getting kind of tired. as much as i love questions about being a women, i think i got asked one too many. i think lando noticed i was starting to get tired.

lando nudged me gently "oi, u alright there bels?" lando says quietly, a bit concerned at my tired state.
"yeah just a bit tired that's all"
"do u want to head off" he says pointing his head to the door.
"we can stay here if u want, i don't mind" i say smiling a little. "i can always walk back and you stay here" i say politely, i know how much this means to lando. he never gets to actually sit down and have a nice meal because of how busy he is.

"don't be silly, ur not walking home by yourself." he exclaimed, he pulled a face like i just said the most shocking, horrifying news ever.
"cmon we can go, i've finished now and everyone is going to head out" he answered, standing up.

we say bye to everyone and walk out to the street.

there was a comfortable silence as we walked down the street, our breath creating clouds round us as we walked in the icy weather.

"thanks for that" i say looking at him, "im too awkward for that stuff".

"that's why u have me bella, ill always look after you" lando says diging his elbow into the side of me.

"pffft i'm always running round after you, telling you what time ur interviews are, finding ur team t-shirts when u loose them..."

"alright alright we get it" lando says pulling his hands out his pockets. i laugh rolling my eyes.

i shiver when a big gust of wind blows over towards us.

"we better start walking faster" lando says also feeling cold after the strong, cold, gust of wind.
"ha u think" i let out a laugh as i start walking faster to catch up with him, hands in my pockets also.

"come here" he said putting his arm over my shoulder to keep us both warm as we walk along the quite streets of the city. 
i warm up instantly as his hand touches my shoulder. i look at his face, he's so chuffed.

"why are u now happy all of a sudden"

"because ur body heat is warm" he's says grinning like a child, arm still round me.

i look at his face, his nose red from the weather, his green eyes glowing from the early evening light given from the moon in the night sky.

we walk off into the distance, somewhat quickly (and warmly) making it to our hotel.

i'm rlly excited abt this book. sorry i haven't updated ive fr had not time and ive been quite bored because there is no f1 😔. anyways il try post soon i'm just thinking of more chapters to make.
