River sat in his house watching as his very unsick mother smokes a cigarette on her chair " hey mom, you probably dont care but, i have to go somewhere, ill be back as soon as i can be" she scoffed " ofcourse you always leave me" she stands walking over to him " your no good of a son, i regret having you" he just nodded and then she slapped him, but he still just stood still and then said " i wish you didnt have me too" then he left slamming the door shut
He regrets not telling the princess why he was actually gone those few days, but he didnt wanna risk his future being ruined, so he just told her it was because his mother was sick, and its not a lie, but shes not helpless.
As he walked through the woods he finally reached the castle, he looked up and smiled as he saw the girl hes been longing to see, she seemed to immediately notice him and just as soon as he saw her she disappeared.
He watched as she ran out the castles gates and fled into his arms hugging him tightly " river! Your here!"
He smiled and hugged her back " you seem happy" she pulled away " i am, i was worried you wouldn't show" "well here i am dear" he saw a faint blush appear across her face " im glad you are" he smiled at her " would you like to go for a walk?" She nodded " ofcourse "
They began their walk asking each other questions
" what's your favorite animal"
"Foxes"
" how lovely! Mine are pandas"
" what a cute animal to pick"
" whats your favorite color"
"Black"
"Black"
They both said at the same time
He said " black? Isnt that a bit dark for you?"
" i find comfort in it" " that's beautiful"
She smiled " your beautiful"
" thank you, your handsome"
They both looked into each others eyes
Full of love and wanting
" thank you for existing caroline, you mean so much to.. the world" she smiled and then looked down at her hands " not to my parents though"
" you have me, you mean the world to me Caroline "
She giggled " your so sweet" " and your even more"
They both enjoyed the walk, talking to each other for so long they never realized it was midnight " oh shoot! I better be going inside now" he nodded " ofcourse ofcourse, go ahead, oh and care? Read this when you get in your room" she nodded and took the note in his hand and went inside.
Once he arrived home his heart dropped hearing glass shattering from inside the house.
For a moment
He hoped
That his mother was dead
He places his hand on the door knob
Slightly turning it
And then
The door opened
