The crowd was red hot for the debut of SPW! Pyro erupted and the crowd cheered loudly as the show with Pat McAfee and Crim Rocker were on call for tonight's show!
Pat: "Hello, everyone and WELCOME to SPW Homecoming LIVE from Scotiabank Arena here in Toronto! Pat McAfee here and I'm joined by the CLON's own Crim Rocker! Crim how the hell are ya?"
Crim: "I'm fantastic Pat, still a little sore from recent events but i'm still happy to be here for the re-debut of SPW! We have a fantastic card including our main event between Kenny Omega and Yang Xiao Long to crown our first SPW World Champion of the new era!"
Pat: "Yeah but how about-"
Before Pat could finish a roar could be heard from the crowd when they heard the static hit..
Instead of a roar of cheers it was a roar of thunderous boos as CM Punk came out. The fans still remembered how Punk had stood up RCCW at Beach Blast and were NOT happy about him appearing in SPW however Punk was the opposite, he soaked in the hostile reaction. But it wasn't just the crowd that wasn't pleased, as Crim Rocker outright stood up and walked off the commentary booth with a displeased look on his face.
Crim: *sigh* "Look, I respect the job I've been given but I'm going to do something this company doesn't want me to do. If I sit through him, I'm going to concessions."
However McAfee who was just as displeased, sat down and stayed as Punk entered the ring and grabbed a mic, still soaking in the reaction as the fans began to chant "Fuck CM Punk" at him.
Punk: "I see a lot has changed, hasn't it? All it takes is one dirt sheet headline, some worthless moron who couldn't lace my boots who also doesn't belong in a ring and a bootleg CM Punk to turn you people against me but should i be shocked? You people are so goddamn fickle you were WAITING for an opportunistic time to turn on me, but I thought you at least had standards (laughs) guess i was wrong huh? It's no shocker Xander signed me afterall i'm the ONLY thing that's real in professional wrestling! You know who isn't? People like Crim who ride off of the coattails of people more popular than him. People like Skylar Jordan, yeah bet you forgot he existed huh? People like...you."
Punk said as he pointed to McAfee, who was now staring at him.
Punk: "Yeah, you. You corporate shill, a lot of things changed in the past two years but you kissing ass hasn't, has it? No matter if it's SPW management, WWE Management or even Aaron Rodgers you love to kiss ass don't you Pat? You're praised by the people for being a normal commentator on a booth full of robots. You're praised for being a fanboy like of them and it's a fucking joke!"
The crowd kept booing as Punk attempted to keep going but McAfee had enough and stood up from the table, grabbing a microphone of his own.
Pat: "Punk, with all due respect. Tonight isn't about me or you, tonight's about the people. It's about SPW and I'm just doing my job so we can do this any other time just not tonight."
This warranted cheering from the crowd as Punk scoffed at this.
Punk: "There you go proving my point McAfee you're a yes man, you're a shill. But when you're not a shill, you're burying people who have done more for this business than your sorry ass ever could. Does Bum Ass Corbin ring a bell? Maybe how you ridiculed Austin Theory? You're selfish Pat. That's why you shill because it benefits your sorry ass."
That was the breaking point for McAfee as he stormed into the ring and got right in Punk's face.
Pat: "I tried so hard to be professional but you're making it really hard so let me retort, you wanna call me a shill and say i bury people when that's all you did in the last place you worked. No matter if it was Kenny Omega, Colt Cabana or the Young Bucks all you did was try to embarrass the company they worked their asses off to build. Phil, let's be honest YOU are the selfish one here for nearly killing the momentum of that place! So it's no shocker that nobody wants your hypocritical ass here. Now if you'll please excuse me, I'm gonna go back to my desk and do my job."
Pat said to a thunderous applause, as he began to exit the ring however Punk proceeded to roundhouse kick McAfee in the back of the head to loud boos as he unloaded punch and punch onto the fallen commentator. Punk then lifted McAfee onto his shoulders for the GTS, when suddenly..
Out came a debuting Cody Rhodes. Punk immediately dropped Pat on the floor and ran out of the ring as Rhodes entered the ring, Punk walked back up the ramp with a smirk on his face as the crowd chanted Cody's name and Rhodes checked on Pat before the show cut to commercial.
