Were halfway through the movie when I remember the race, I had with the guy at the stop lights on the way to Miya's.

"I forgot to tell you," I start saying when she pauses the movie and puts her whole attention on me. She always does this when I need to tell her something, I love it.

"On the way here, there was another person on a bike and he offered to race to the next set of lights," I say while she's listening intently.

"I said yes and I beat him,"

"Of course," Miya says with a smile.
"It wasn't hard," i laugh.

"Then we were waiting at the red light after the race, when he pulls up next to me and starts saying 'how did you do that? No one ever beats me'," I finish.

"Too bad he's cocky," she starts, "but you should've gotten his number.

"Well, it's pointless now my father has practically sold me," I sigh and lie back on the bed.

"Fuck you father," she announces.
I look in her direction and smile.

"Yeah, fuck him," I say while she lifts the bottle of vodka and takes a large sip before passing it to me.

I was out clearing my head after the news my father crushed me with. Marriage. I am being forced into an arranged marriage for the benefit of my family.
I want what's best for my family but not like this.

I wanted a choice in who I wanted to marry. I wanted to marry for love, not money and power.

I'm out on my bike just riding around the streets that are pitch black, the only lights are the dismal street lights on the side of the roads and the stop lights.

I've been riding around for about 45 minutes when I pull up to a red light and in front of me is another person on a bike. Feeling bored I challenge them to a race to the next set of lights.

Thank fully they agree.
When the lights turn green the person in front of me speeds off while I'm close behind.

One thing I love more than anything is racing, whether it's on a motorbike or in a car, I don't care as long as I'm going fast. When we get to the next set of lights, I'm kind of shocked. They won.

"How did you do that?" I ask.
"What do you mean?" her voice is angelic even through the helmet.
My breath hitches in my throat before I answer.

"Beat me, no one ever beats me," I know that sounded a little cocky but it's true. Before she answers the light turns green which she sees and decides to leave instead of answer what I said.
I watch her leave.

I'm just sitting on my bike staring at her fleeting figure. Not gonna lie that was a very hot.
I should've asked for her number.

Why didn't I? I'm so stupid.

Remembering that the light was green I ride off finally deciding to head home.

"Finally got your head right and come home boy," my father says from down the hall.

I ignore him not wanting to talk to him after what he's making me do.

"Don't ignore me when I'm talking to you," he yells.
"I'm not ignoring you; I'm trying to work up the courage to have a conversation with someone so ignorant and annoying," I spit back at him.

He practically sprints to me to try get in my face, yet i tower over him. He's yelling at me for talking back and leaving the house when he was signing my future away to some arranged marriage.

I'm trying my hardest not to laugh in his face, I scoff walking away but not without shoulder barging him knocking his little body back.

"Don't walk away from me!" he shouts while his little legs are racing trying to keep up with me.

Instead of answering him I open my bedroom door and before he can get through the door, I slam it in his face and lock it.
