Candance wasn't happy.
Mr.Bear wasn't happy too.
It was raining too much outside and it was scaring he-uhm, Mr.Bear.
And because she was such a good friend, she wanted to help Mr.Bear.
Plus the story her mom had told her just before bed wasn't interesting enough.
The prince was just not princey enough, the dragon wasn't dragony enough and her pillow just wasn't fluffy enough.
Yeah, today was just not her day.
She stepped out of her bed and landed on the floor of her room. Her room was a single room at the top of their house. It was pink all around and had a skylight at the top and was adorned with colourful illustrations of princesses, dragons and fairytales.
Sometimes Candance liked to imagine she was a princess trapped in a tower.
The rain was getting louder and so was the thunder, Candance looked in front and saw her reflection as she had landed in front of a mirror.
She had honey brown locks, with freckles littering her face, green eyes and a gap inbetween her teeth. Her face was a bit round and she had chubby cheeks.
What could she do, she was eight. She was sure she'd turn into a princess one day.
"Come on Mr.Bear let's go find mommy, she's mad me-I mean us vewy angwy", she said as she bounded out her room.
With all the thunder she couldn't have possibly heard or imagined what she'd meet in the living room.
What she had seen left her stunned.
And her father was even more stunned at her presence.
Crying.
And asking him, "Daddy, Where's Mommy?".
-Only time and tears take away grief; that is what they are for.
