Chapter 8: Demons?!?!

'What... in the world is going on?' asked Rukia exasperated.

'What you witnessed earlier was a demon.' answered Laiha Au. (Laiha Alternate Dimension) She tried to explain in a calm way which hoped they could understand.

'Oh! It's been a long time, Tomioka-senpai! Nice to see you!' said Itadori excitedly.

The girl then smiled sweetly at him. 'Good to see you doing well too, Itadori.'

'How come the demon appeared here?' asked Laiha.

'It seems like there was a disturbance between this world and our world. This is not the first time you travelled to other worlds, thus also making the dimension gate weaker allowing other beings to travel here, including demons. I was on the way back to the Butterfly estate to help Shinobu with the injured slayers until I felt a demon presence. And so I chased it and came here.' The girl explained. 'I actually arrived here few days ago. It took me 2 days to gather information about this world until I met you all.'

'Soka. That explains it. Daijobu, you can use our scroll or we can kamui you back to your world soon after we replenished back our chakra.' said Laiha.

'Arigato, that means a lot.' The Kori Hashira thanked her.

'Wait, wait, wait. I'm confused. What are demons? Or Hashiras??' asked a confused Rukia making the two sweat drop forgetting they were there.

The Kori Hashira then sighed. 'Well, to put it simply, demons are man-eating creatures. They hunt human flesh as their primary food.'

The two were in shocked unlike Itadori and Laiha who were already aware of the things happening at her world.

'Demons possess superhuman strength, speed and more. They don't sleep either. Their weakness is wisteria flower as well as the Sun.' 

'But how did you manage to decapacitate the demon back then?'

'My nichirin blade also known as the colour changing blade, changes its colour depending on the user's skill of swordsmanship. It is made of a special ore, that absorbs the light from the sun allowing us to decapacitate them.'

'Demons are divided into 2, which are lower rank and upper rank. Upper rank are much stronger compared to lower ranks. All demons posses 'Blood Demon Art'. We slayers use 'Breathings.' What I used earlier was 'Ice Breathing.' There are various types of Breathings. Demons consume human flesh to become stronger. They exist because of a certain man, Kibutsuji Muzan.'

Her voice was filled with anger and hatred once she mentioned the man's name making the the two flinch. After all, her calm persona suddenly changed to a anger and hatred one.

*If only I was strong enough, Tsutako nee-san and everyone (Kamado family) wouldn't have passed...* thought Laiha Au solemnly.

Laiha and Itadori also knew how she felt after mentioning the man. After all, they all lost someone important to them before.

'I... see.' Rukia managed to choke out. 'How do you became a slayer though?'

'To become a slayer, you first have to be trained in swordsmanship. It mostly take years. Once you do that, you have to participate the 'Final Selection'. Think of it as a test for you to pass to prove yourself as a slayer. If not, you will be wasting your life for something if you are not fully prepared.'

The atmosphere was tense but Laiha Au knew she had to move on the explanation.

'You have to survive a week and defeat the imprisoned demons that were caught by previous slayers and slay them. Then only you pass and you are required to choose an ore for your sword to be made. Your uniform also comes together with the sword. When you start, there are 10 ranks. There are Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, and Kinoe. The lowest is Mizunoto while the Kinoe is one of the highest. But actually, you can also be a Tsuguko if one of the Hashiras decided to train or you could try applying for it.'

'Tomioka-chan, what is a Hashira?' asked Inoue.

'Hashiras are actually part of the ranks in the corps. They are the highest, making them the strongest demon slayer in the era.'

'And... you're one, the Kori Hashira?' 

'Yeah, to be a Hashira, you have to kill at least 50 demons or kill at least one of the 12 Kizuki Demons.'

'That sounds life-threatening.'

'Of course, you have to risk your life to be one. After all, you can choose not to be one, it's your decision.'

'So in order words, we can also be a slayer.'

'In lay mans term, yes. You could try learning one of the Breathings, Water is so far the easiest. There's Wind, Serpent, Love, Stone, Insect, Flower, Flame, Mist and Ice. So--'

She was cut off by a familiar voice.

'Whoi!' a voice yelled out. 'Laiha! You alright!'

They all turned.

'Ah! Tanji-senpai! Hizaki-senpai! Chan-senpai! Koki-senpai!' said Itadori.

'Itadori?! What are you doing here?!' yelled Anya pointing finger at him.

'It's a long story...' said Itadori nervously while scratching his back head.

'Oh, even Laiha's Au here.' Lily said with a stoic face saying like it is a day-to-day basis seeing themselves from alternate worlds.

'Alright, you guys ready? We gotta go back soon before they search the village upside down looking for us.' answered Kusuo with a stoic face making them sweat drop.

'Yeah, we need to send AU me back first. Ready?' asked Laiha.

'Ready.' answered the girl.

Tanya and Laiha then activated their Rinnegan earning surprised gasps and looks from Ichigo's group. Just then, a familiar portal opened.

'Our time together is short, but it is a pleasure to meet people from other worlds. May be meet again.' With that, the Kori Hashira went in the portal and it disappeared.

'Alright.' Tanya began. 'It's our turn now, ready?'

'Ready!' yelled the siblings in sync.

'Laiha, Tanya...' Ichigo spoke. He then gave a small smile. 'See you later.'

The two then smiled. 'See you guys later too.'

The portal then appeared.

'Finally! Food, here I come!' said Anya running in the portal with the rest of her siblings following after her. 

'Do you think... we will meet them again?' asked Chad.

Ichigo then smirked. 'Of course we will. After all, they are world travelers with those eyes of theirs.' Ichigo hoped that they will meet again. After all, the siblings hasn't seen the Shinigami's fight against the Hollows in action.

Will they meet again? Time will tell!
