I somehow convinced Ava to come with me to the airport and told her that a transfer student was coming and we were assigned the duty to pick him up. She agreed as we made a run towards the airport it took us a lot more time than I thought to get ready and was a good 25 minutes ride, while on the way Ava asked me to share the picture of the person we were going to pick, i said okay and just sent a photo of a random man when we reached there i asked her to sit on in the lounge as i go pick that person up as soon as I reached the passenger gate my eyes started to scan the bustling terminal for him it was really busy here tonight , amidst the chaos while searching for him i bumped into a guy as I looked above and recognised him my eyes started to well up as I hugged the soul out of him "finally you're back. I missed you so much" to which he replied with "I know i missed you guys too" " but why are you only the one who's here where's Ava?" i told him that i had not yet told her about his arrival and how i was planning to surprise her we talked on our way towards the lounge as we reached her Ethan blindfolded her eyes with his hands and she tried to recognise the person by touching his hands and stumbled upon a bracelet we gave Ethan while he was going away. The bracelet had our initials carved into it she said in a low voice 'this better not be a fucking prank' as she removed his hands and her head snapped into his direction in full swing she jumped over the lounge sofa and threw herself at him, as tears started falling out of her eyes ,I know how emotional it is for her to see him after so long as they both were friends even before me and she was the one who introduced me to him
FLASHBACK- I still remember the day when we moved into a new posh neighbourhood I have always been a very shy kid one day when I was playing on a swing all by myself Ava came to me and offered me a bar of chocolate as she asked "if she could sit next to me" I took the bar and nodded we sat there in silence but she started babbling "Hi , I am Ava Patel , I am 5 years old and I love to play sports" I nodded and she asked "what is your name "to which I answered "I am Lily I am 5 years old too and I love to read" she nodded and asked if we could be friends as she had no female friends, I nodded as she started babbling again , after a few minutes of me listening to her talk about how she didn't do her homework and got scolded by the teacher Ethan came , she introduced him and said meet him he is my bestestttt friend in the whole world he is Ethan and he is 5 yrs. old too, Ethan brought his hand forward to greet me, and i took forwarded my hand for us to do a handshake , after then she told him about me and how she made a new friend we sat there listening to her babbling and decided to come back tomorrow at the same spot at 5 pm since then we used to meet daily play fun games i grow really close to both of them in no time as we also went to the same school, until Ethan had to shift to London due to some family problems..
BACK TO REALITY- We settled his suitcases in the car as we were ready to go to the apartment, we soon reached there as the time passed quickly with us telling each other funny incidents, We reached our apartment and freshened up after which we went out for a nice dinner, we decided to walk to our apartment while on our way back we had a conversation about which university Ethan will be attending and he told us that he will be going to Lincoln high itself as he had already gotten admission into it and tomorrow is his first day as well as basketball entrance match, after being reminded of the match, Ava mentioned that she had received the confirmed date and information about the tournament and it will be held next Friday, we reached the apartment and were so tired that we barely even changed and just collapsed into our bedrooms.
