Chapter 1: Day Of The Dino Part 1

Niall
I was in my room getting ready for school, my eyes are sore from last night as me and my parents had the worst fight ever. I don't have the best relationship with y parents because they just believe I am lazy but I want to finish school but they don't understand that. There was a knock at the door and Liam walked in.

"Hey Ni!" Liam said softly.
"Hey." I said.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah I'm fine." I said.
"You don't need to lie to me." he said and I sighed.
"Look Li I don't know what you want me to say. That I'm fine? That I'll be okay? Because right now I don't even know." I said.
"Look I know they don't understand." Liam said.
"Yeah and? Look they aren't interested in what I want Liam all they care about is money and I'm sorry but I'm sick of it!" I said. Liam sighed and pulled me into a hug and I don't know why but I started crying again.
"I'm sorry." I cried.
"It's okay let it out." he whispered as he rubbed my back.
"What's going on here?" I heard mum say.
"Mum just leave now isn't the time." Liam said.
"What's wrong with him?" Mum asked and it sounded like she cared.
"Yes he's okay he'll be fine." Liam said.
"Liam let me talk to him please." Mum said.
"Leave me alone" I cried.
"Please Niall let me talk to you." Mum said.
"Please leave." I whispered.
"He said leave." Liam said. I heard mum leaving and I just continued crying.
"Come on Ni calm down you're meeting Connor right?" Liam asked and I nodded and sat up from Liam's chest.
"I'm sorry." I said wiping my eyes.
"Don't be it's okay, get your bag ready and I'll take you to school before I go and meet Danny." Liam said and walked out of the room. I then got my bag ready and headed downstairs where Liam was waiting and then he took me to school.

When Liam left me I found Connor.
"Hey!" I said.
"Hey! I'm not going to come to class I'm going to shoot some goals wanna join?" he asked.
"Sure why not? I mean what's the worse that can happen?" I said as I went with him. We were on the football field and I was on the side while he had some kid in goal and he was worried about the new Principal we have. As Connor was telling him that it was okay she came up behind us and we had to go with her. As we were walking we then retrieved Kira who apparently was playing her guitar but apparently that wasn't allowed and then all of a sudden we got wet. Ethan was walking through it all with an umbrella so she grabbed him too and took us inside.
"Principal Randall I would just like to mention the fact that there is no hard evidence linking me to that unfortunate sprinkler incident." Ethan said.
"Save it for the Judge Judy Mr James the 4 of you have detention for one week starting today now if there is no further questions." she started and we all cut in with our protests.
"Computer club." Ethan said.
"I didn't think so." She said and walked off and I slumped back, my parents and Liam were going to kill me.
"Okay somebody really needs a hug." Kira said.
"Dude...computer club?" Connor asked.

The next day:
Liam dropped me off but before I could get out he grabbed my arm.
"How did you get detention?" he asked.
"I was with Connor who skipped class." I said.
"Niall..." he said.
"I know okay!" I said.
"I know mum and dad upset you but this is giving them more of reason to be angry with you." Liam said.
"Well they don't know." I said.
"Seriously?" Liam asked.
"Just pick me up after the detention has finished okay?" I said.
"Fine." Liam said and I got out of the car.

After school:
Connor, Ethan, Kira and I were stood waiting for Principal Randall for our detention. She came round the corner with apparently our new science teacher Dr Oliver. She said something about us being tortured before she walked off and Dr Oliver turned to us.
"So you guys like museums?" he asked.
"Great." I huffed. We got in his car and we arrived at the museum.
"Woah check out the T-Rex." Ethan said.
"That's weird." Dr Oliver said as we got out of the car and it looked like it was closed.
"Oh well no museum for us." Connor said.
"Great let's go home." Kira said.
"Yes." I said.
"I'll tell you what you guys have a look around the grounds if any of you guys find anything prehistoric I'll cancel detention for the rest of the week." Dr Oliver said.
"Sweet." Ethan said.
"I'm going to see if I can find someone who could tell us when they are opening up." Dr Oliver said as we walked off.
"So let me get this straight they have a club just for computers?" Connor asked.
"Hey guys have you ever heard the story about the guy who was hiking up here and fell in a giant sinkhole." Ethan said.
"Must have missed that one." Kira said.
"Come on it was on all the urban legend websites." Ethan said.
"Dude you know this isn't computer club right?" Connor asked.
"Oh I guess you do bug and bad to search the web well what do you do in you spare time." Ethan asked.
"Me? I go out with the girls you know they are the ones at school that smell really good with the long hair and the makeup." Connor said.
"Oh it's like that is it?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah it's like that." Connor said.
"Whatever." Kira said pushing her way through Connor and Ethan.
"All I'm trying to do is give you guys the heads up just don't come crying to me when you fall in a giant sinkhole." Ethan said and I on cue we all fell in sinkholes.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me!" I said. We all got up.
"All right you guys stay here where it is safe I'll climb up and come back with help." Connor said as he then tried climbing up the wall but then fell down.
"Back already?" Ethan asked and I just chuckled as we helped him up. We then started looking around trying to find a way out by going deeper into the cave. Kira then started humming and then singing and me and Ethan were really getting into the groove.
"Babe keep it down I'm trying to stay focused here." Connor said.
"Did you just call me babe? Did he just call me babe?" Kira asked Ethan and I and we just shrugged.
"I wasn't listening I was still grooving to your tunes." Ethan said.
"Yeah same." I said.
"What just chill out." Connor said.
"Listen my name is Kira maybe you should write it on your hand or something so you don't forget." Kira said and she walked off, he then turned to look at Ethan and I and we just shrugged. As we delved further into the cave we came across a dinosaur statue.
"This screams Jurassic Park to me." Kira said.
"This is will get us out of detention forever." Connor said as he touched the jaw of the dinosaur and the wall then went up revealing a underground lab and we walked in.
"I could do a crazy video in here." Kira said.
"Woah this must be the mothership for you dude." Connor said.
"Normally I would be insulted but when you are right you are right." Ethan said. Connor then went up to this stand thing and I followed and we saw 4 gems sitting there. Connor reached out to pick one up but Ethan stopped him.
"Don't touch that!" Ethan said.
"Why not?" Connor asked.
"You really are taking this whole dumb jock thing to a whole new level." Ethan said.
"Look I have sat through enough science classes to know that thing looks fully prehistoric." Connor said.
"Hate to break it to you but he's right." I said.
"I hate to agree with them I really do but I already missed one rehearsal." Kira said as we picked up the stones or gems. I had a green one, Connor had a red one, Kira had a yellow one and Ethan had a blue one.
"Well what are they?" Kira asked.
"I can go online later and see if I can I can find out." Ethan said.
"You in front of a computer? Wait let me put on my surprised face." Connor said.
"Dude." I said.
"You know in 10 years from now when your hairline is receeding and you are playing pick up soccor in the park because your dreams of turning pro didn't quite work out I'll have my own multi billion dollar software business yeah." Ethan said and I looked Connor who just rolled his eyes. Kira then started to walk away.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I don't want to think about what kind of freak lives in a place like this and I sure don't want to be here when it gets home." Kira said as she walked out.
"Right behind you." I said as we followed her putting the gems in our pockets in the process. Ethan was then leading the way out of the cave.
"This way." Ethan said as we then came out of the cave and I was relieved.
"Anyone have a compass?" Ethan asked.
"Ah I was going to bring one." Connor said sarcastically and we then felt a sudden gust of wind at least I hope it was the wind.
"What was that?" Ethan asked.
"The wind?" I asked hopeful.
"That ain't the wind as much as we would like it to be." Ethan said as all of a sudden these weird looking creatures appeared in front of us I was frozen in shock we all were.
"Don't....move." Ethan said.
"Great Idea make it easy for them." Kira said.
"Okay how about this new plan run." I said as we all ran until we came across a hole and me, Connor and Ethan made It across but Kira didn't and she fell so we had to turn around and help her up.
"Come on!" Connor said as we helped her up and we continued running and at some point we lost Kira until we heard a horrible screeching noise and we covered our ears, I then saw Kira on the ground and we ran back to help her.
"What was that?" I asked
"I have no idea." Kira said as her gem started glowing, the weird looking creatures started chasing us again and we had to start running but then we stopped when we thought we might be able to fight them. All of sudden I was able to teleport from one place to another. My gem then started glowing green. We then regrouped and the creatures disappeared.
"How much do I love detention!" Ethan said as Dr Oliver came running up to us and we his the gems.
"Hey are you guys alright?" he asked.
"Yeah never better!" I said.
"Nothing out of the ordinary happened?" Dr Oliver asked
"Nah just your uh routine in the woods lots of funny little creatures." Ethan said.
"And a few scaly ones." Kira muttered.
"So you get into the dino exhibit?" Connor asked.
"Uh they are still working the kinks out we better get you guys back." Dr Oliver said and he walked ahead of us while we stayed back for a moment.
"Don't you think we should tell him?" Kira asked.
"I don't know about you but I've got over a thousand sci-fi DVD's you wanna know how many times the dude with superpowers ends up in some freaky government lab lying on the table with wires in his head?" Ethan said.
"Even I know that!" Connor said.
"Guys lay off her." I said.
"Seriously Niall?" Connor asked as Dr Oliver looked at us.
"You guys coming?" he asked and we all nodded before following him back to his car. When we arrived back at the school Liam spotted us and he was angry. He came up to us and he hugged me.
"Jesus I was worried!" Liam exclaimed.
"Li I'm fine!" I said.
"What were you thinking taking him out of school when he's supposed to be in detention?" Liam asked.
"I'm very sorry Mr Smith it was what was agreed with the principal I assumed she called the parents." Dr Oliver said.
"Where were you anyway?" Liam asked.
"Museum." I said.
"Let's go Ni." he said.
"See you later guys!" I said and I got in the car.
"Why didn't you tell me where you were going?" Liam asked.
"I thought the principal told you I did tell her too. I said.
"How is that detention." He muttered.
"Museums are boring." I stated.
"As long as you're safe I don't care!" Liam said as we drove home.

The next day:
After Liam dropped me off and I was talking to the other three about yesterday's events.
"Okay so we all agree no one talks about this to anyone no matter what." Connor said.
"I can do better than that just forget I was here and you do the same." Kira said and handed her gem to Connor.
"Wait how come he gets it?" Ethan asked.
"Ethan." I said as I hit his arm.
"Well here." Kira said as she gave it to Ethan.
"Jesus." I said.
"You know what I give up!" Kira exclaimed as she walked away. Soon the creatures from yesterday showed up and they had her surrounded and they got a hold of her.
"Kira!" I said as we all ran towards her but we were too late because she was gone and all we were left with was her school bag.
"She's gone!" Connor said. We then got into Connor's car after school I messaged Liam earlier that day saying I was going to Connor's after school and that I was sleeping over as well.
"Okay so where are we going?" I asked.
"Um Dr Olivers?" Ethan suggested.
"Okay what's he going to do?" Connor asked.
"He's a dinosaur guy these things are dinosaurs..." Ethan said.
"Sort of." I said.
"Alright so where does he live?" Connor asked.
"Um 1992 Valencia Road." Ethan said.
"Valencia Road." Connor said.
"Wait that's like way out in the middle of the woods." I said.
"Did you text Liam so he doesn't freak?" Connor asked.
"Yeah he thinks I'm at yours and I'm sleeping over." I said as Connor continued driving until we arrived. We then got out of the car and we ran to the door. Ethan knocked while Connor looked in the window.
"Knock again." Connor said and Ethan did and there was no answer.
"Now what?" I asked as Connor touched the door and it opened.
"What are you doing?" Ethan asked.
"Why would he leave his door unlocked?" Connor asked.
"He's got no neighbours." I stated.
"What you've never heard of the 3 bears?" Connor asked.
"Is that the last book you read?" Ethan asked and he just rolled his eyes as we walked in and Connor shouted his name to which we got no response.
"Hello, man check this out!" Connor said as he saw a smaller version of the dinosaur statue and he reached out to touch the jaw.
"Hey remember what happened last time you did that?" Ethan asked.
"Guys, the guy is a teacher not..."Connor trailed off as it opened up a passage and we saw stairs. I looked at Connor. "Batman." He finished. We then walked down the stairs and we saw that it was the same lab from yesterday.
"This is the same place!" Ethan said.
"Are you guys freaking out right now" I asked.
"Yeah." They both said.
"I'd have to say I am." Ethan said.
"If you're looking for extra credit you're in the wrong place." Dr Oliver said and we turned round and he didn't look happy as we all stared at him.
