Deep in a forest near the town of Wayne in a small, run-down shack, an old hag circled a stool. On top of the stool was a pair of earbuds. "They all think I'm crazy," she muttered. "Well, I'll show them. They'll regret ever doubting me." She aimed a stick at the ground and started chanting something unintelligible. Suddenly, the chanting ceased and magic blasted out of the stick, spreading out on the ground and creating a green, portal-like phenomenon. The hag stumbled backwards, nearly falling over. "What... is this?..." she gasped, putting her hand near the magic. All of a sudden, the room got blindingly bright, everything around this thing she'd created shaking as it blew outwards before being sucked into the earbuds. The old hag fell to the ground, horrified. She began to get up but felt an abrupt wave of dizziness. She stumbled around her shack, trying to keep her balance, but tripped and fell out the window. She tried to get back up again, but couldn't. All of a sudden, her eyes began to turn green as her brain fogged up. The world spun around the old hag, she couldn't think, and then suddenly everything stopped.
A middle-aged woman named Mary slept peacefully in her cabin in the woods. All of a sudden, her peaceful rest was interrupted by a loud explosion, which was quickly followed by a large implosion.
She jolted awake. "What is all that sound?!" she whispered to herself. She got out of bed and stomped downstairs. She grabbed her black coat from the hanger next to the door, frantically putting it on over her pajamas as she stormed out of her house in the direction she heard all of the ruckus coming from.
"CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYING TO SLE-" She paused. "What? Since when was there another person living here?..." she walked up to the abandoned-looking shack she'd discovered. She laid her hand on the cold, rusty doorknob and began to turn it. The door creaked open by itself, revealing one dark room that made up the entirety of the tiny home. Mrs. Mary let herself inside and looked around, her eyes centering on the only thing in the room; a stool with two small, white objects on it. "H-Hello?" She called out. No response. She looked back at the stool and walked up to it, investigating the objects on top of it. "Well, would you look at that... earbuds!" she laughed aloud as she picked the items up from the stool. "Well, it's almost Ms. Trish's birthday and these earbuds look brand new... so I'm sure it would be fine if I just gave them to her..." she thought as she pocketed the earbuds in her coat. She observed the room one more time before leaving the old shack. As Mrs. Mary walked back to her house, she halted to a stop, looking at the earbuds. "Hmm... I guess listening to one little song won't hurt..." she pulled out her phone and connected the earbuds to it. She went on her phone and turned on her favorite artist. She began to play games on her phone. Everything was normal at first, however, when she got to her front porch, she began to feel dizzy. "Ughh... I don't feel so-" all of a sudden she fell to her knees and tripped over herself. Everything started to turn green. She hurriedly took the earbuds out of her ears and looked around. Everything was normal again. "That was weird... I must be tired." she thought as she entered her house and went back to bed.
"There have been reports of a supposed unknown species of wild animal going around after the supernatural explosion that occurred in Pratt's Wayne Woods in Bartlett last Sunday... so be very careful. Next on the news-" Izzy turned off the TV
"Well that can't be good!" Her sister, Zan chuckled. Zan had dark brown hair and wore a light blue and white striped hoodie, she was four years older than Izzy, who was twenty.
"I think I know what to do!" Izzy grinned, confidently jumping up from the couch.
"You'd have to be crazy to go out there!" Zan shouted.
Izzy turned around and smirked. "Yeah, then maybe I am crazy."
"Yeah, maybe you are. I'm gonna go, it was good seeing you." Zan said as she picked up her belongings and left the house.
