The air hung heavy with the scent of a thousand gardenia blooms. You squinted through the fragrant mist, bathtub overflowing like a floral waterfall, petals cascading down the sides like a fragrant avalanche. In the center of this petal-strewn paradise sat Tengen, bare-chested and grinning

"Tengen," you deadpanned, poking the flamboyant feather sticking out of his hair, "I love your flamboyance, truly. But sometimes...less is more. Especially when it comes to the number of flower petals in the bath."

He chuckled, a low rumble that sent shivers down your spine even through the sudsy armor. "But darling, how can I be the Sound Hashira, the flamboyant Tengen Uzui, without a flourish of petals?" He plucked a blossom from the surface, its creamy white stark against his tanned skin, and tucked it behind your ear. "Besides, they smell divine, just like you."

You snorted, the bubbles erupting in a playful shower. "Divine, maybe. But I'm drowning in them. I can barely see the water, let alone my knees."

Tengen's grin widened. "Then let me be your guide," he declared, rising like a flamboyant water spirit from the floral foam. He waded towards you, his every step sending ripples through the petals. "Hold out your hand, my love."

You extended it hesitantly, expecting a petal-covered hand in return. Instead, his fingers found yours, warm and surprisingly calloused beneath the silkiness of the bathwater. He pulled you closer, your bodies brushing against each other, sending a jolt of electricity through you.

"See?" he murmured, his breath tickling your ear. "Less petals, more you."

You leaned into him, the scent of gardenias and Tengen's musky cologne wrapping you in a warm embrace. He cradled your face in his hands, his thumbs tracing the curve of your cheekbones. His eyes, usually sparkling with mischief, were soft now, a storm turned into a gentle summer breeze.

"You are more beautiful than any flower, my love," he whispered, his lips brushing against yours in a feather-light kiss. "And all I need is you, petals be damned."

You smiled, a blush blooming on your cheeks that rivaled the gardenias. The overflowing bath, the extravagant petals, they faded into the background, mere props in the play of your love. All that mattered was the warmth of Tengen's touch, the softness of his gaze, the way his name danced on your lips like a whispered prayer.

The rest of the afternoon unfolded in a languid haze of stolen kisses and whispered secrets. You traced the intricate tattoos on his chest, the ink a stark contrast against his sun-kissed skin. He told you stories of his childhood, of his dreams, and of the way your laughter echoed in his heart like the sweetest melody.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the bathwater, you knew this wasn't just a bath. It was a baptism, a renewal of vows, a whispered promise of forever. And even though the petals were turning soggy and the bathwater tepid, you didn't care. In Tengen's arms, surrounded by the cloying scent of gardenias, you were home.

Later, wrapped in Tengen's silk robes, the bathroom floor littered with wilted petals, you snuggled closer to his warmth. He hummed a soft lullaby, the sound vibrating through his chest and lulling you into a contented sleep.

You dreamt of fragrant gardens and flamboyant feathers, of gentle hands and whispered promises. And as you drifted off, you knew that even with a million flower petals, Tengen's love would always find a way to make you bloom.
