Akshara noticed the change in his expression too and quickly steadied herself, she was a guest in the household. She could not show such emotions or act like this. It should have been expected that Akash would be here... perhaps Daksh and Sunaina too.. they were ultimately some of the country's wealthiest families due to Abhimanyu's investment in their business.
She calmed herself down but then noted how his jaw was still locked, eyes seething with anger, and his entire body stiff.
"Abhi...." she murmured slowly, but if he had heard her.. he had not reacted because his eyes remained there.
Not being able to help herself, she slid her hand slowly on his arm, catching his attention as he turned to look at her.
"It's okay..." she smiled weakly, reassuring him that she was not uncomfortable.
He looked at her and sighed, his facial expressions softening as he once again wanted to wrap her up in his arms and protect her.
"No... it's not" he said, how could it be okay? "I had specifically looked over the guest list... to ensure it was just his parents that were invited..." he admitted absentmindedly not realising what he had revealed.
Akshara's eyes widened, "you did what?" she whispered.
Abhimanyu looked down at her petite figure and then realised what he had admitted.
He shrugged his shoulders like it was just the most casual thing in the world, he was not afraid to admit it. He had only been subtle to not overwhelm her.
It was clear.
He cared for her.

"Bhai.. you are here... Ma has been looking all over you..." Neil whispered angrily, finally spying his brother hidden behind a pillar in the corner of the room after his Mother had been on his back about finding his brother.
He peered over and realised he was not alone but covering someone... gasping when he realised it was Akshara.
"Arre Akshara..." Neil smiled at her, wrapping her in a side hug instantly, surprising her as her eyes instantly widened at the sudden shock of his embrace.
But not as much as Abhimanyu whose jaw nearly dropped, fists clenched and eyes practically bulging out, had Neil really just hugged Akshara? How could he?
"Get off her" Abhimanyu growled, causing Akshara's eyes to widen further as she pleaded silently with her brown eyes. Neil let her go immediately and then stared at his beloved brother... what had just happened?
Neil stared for a second at Abhimanyu, the person who had always been like a father-like figure. He then stared back at Akshara...her cheeks were flushed, eyes completely closed as if she were trying to hide herself from this confrontation.
And then the penny dropped.
Of course.
This is who his brother had been waiting on.
And all of a sudden Neil grinned, a choice he completely approved of!
"Relax... I was just saying hello to Akshara.. who I admire like a sister" Neil smiled, adding the last bit to tease his older brother, letting him know he had caught on.
If Akshara was embarrassed before, she now wanted to completely disintegrate. Goodness, how could she ever face any of the Birla family members again?
Abhimanyu's eyes narrowed in on Neil, silently warning him with his stern glance and Neil immediately gulped. He was still afraid of his older brother like the rest of the world after all!
