As Nisha turned her face towards Krish, his expression turned pale upon seeing the small packet in his hand.
Without saying a word, Nisha threw the packet aside and began to walk away.
"Nisha, it's not what you think," Krish called out tensely, but she pushed his hand away in anger and continued to leave.
"Nisha, Nisha... at least listen to me, yaar," he pleaded, but she ignored his words and walked on.
Krish tried to match her pace, calling out to her again, "Nisha, please, Nisha, let me explain."
He murmured to himself, "You're gone, Krish. Now what are you standing here for? Go and pacify her."
At last, Krish managed to catch up with her and grabbed her arm.
Nisha tried to free herself but failed."Just leave my hand," she said coldly. "I don't want to hear anything. Keep your explanation to yourself. Leave my hand."
"Nisha, I swear I didn't smoke. You know I don't smoke. How can you not trust me?" Krish said desperately.
Nisha looked into his eyes. She trusted him, but she couldn't understand how the packet had ended up in his bag. It wasn't as if it had grown hands and legs and walked there on its own.
"Then what was that packet doing in your bag? It's not like it grew legs," she said. "But let it be. It's your life. Who am I? You can do whatever you want. You don't owe me any explanation. Just leave my hand."
Krish explained, "Nisha, it was just a stupid prank we played last day."Nisha stopped struggling, and Krish sighed in relief, releasing her hand.
She turned her face away, knowing that Krish would never stoop so low as to smoke. He wasn't like other boys. But her fear had overpowered her mind for a moment.
"Aee, Nisha, trust me. I didn't smoke. If you don't believe me, ask Ankit, kriti or Vani," Krish said, noticing her eyes growing glossy.
He was shocked, realizing that a stupid prank had such an emotional impact on her."Nishuuu, look at me. Are you crying?" he asked, grabbing her face to turn her towards him.
Nisha wiped her eyes with the back of her palm, not wanting to be embarrassed in front of him."Are you crying? Yaar, Nishu, it was just a prank. Why are you crying? Don't cry, yaar," Krish pleaded.
"Leave it. You'll never understand what I'm feeling right now," Nisha said, wiping her tears.
Krish hugged her and rubbed her back. "Okay, fine. I'm sorry. I'll never play such a prank again. I promise. Don't cry."
He wipes her tears with his thumb lovingly...
'Tears don't suit in you in your beautiful eyes' he teased .
Nisha glared at him. "Just shut up!! if you ever do such a prank with me in future, that I'll not hesitate to beat you infront of everyone " she said, giving him a hard pinch on his cheek.
Krish yelped in pain. "Ouch! Leave me, yaar."Nisha released him, and he rubbed the sore spot. "It hurts, yaar," he whined.
"That's your punishment for making me cry," Nisha said.
Krish just looked at her."Now, what are you looking at? Let's go. It's already late. I don't want to get scolded by Mumma," Nisha said.
