Seven-year-old Y/N was excited to go home.
She often spent her days at school watching the clock tick by, mind in a daze as the time passed her in painstakingly long increments. Despite her friends attempts to get her to do things with them after school, it proved useless. Her regular extracurricular ballet lessons took up an hour of her time each day, and for her that was an hour too many.
Once the clock hit 3 pm Y/N was rushing out the door to get home.
"Hey Y/N, why are you always busy after school?" Her friend, Airi, had asked her that day. It was something they all wondered but never seemed to ask until that point. "We want to hang out with you!"
Y/N and her friends from ballet were stationed near the cubbies, gathering their belongings in order to go home.
Once she was finished putting her flats on, Y/N giggled and answered simply, "I need to see my grandfather!"
This made the group glance at each other with confused looks. "Is Mr. Naganohara dying?" Hana had asked, before being pinched by Airi. ('Why would you ask her that?!' Y/N heard her whisper).
"Oh god, of course not! But he hangs out with me everyday after lessons and teaches me how to make fireworks." Y/N smirked proudly. "He says that one day, I'm going to take over the family business!"
"But... why would you want to do that? Fireworks are loud and scary." Another girl named Chiyo inquired. If Y/N were to be honest, she didn't quite like Chiyo. No one else in the group seemed to either. But she constantly clinged around them and no one could do anything about it.
But when she heard Chiyo insulting the very thing that held her family together, it made her blood boil more than ever before.
