CHAPTER EIGHT
-Trader Joe's-
08

Paige and Amelia went upstairs and did whatever couples do and I went into my room and watched romance shows for at least five hours. I avoided Paige and we acted as if nothing had happened prior to my sister's arrival. But it's eating me up alive. I'm a terrible liar so if she ever suspects a thing, i'll most likely spill my guts out.

Paige never fully said what it was that she wanted with me. Does she want me to be her side chick? Does she just want to make out all the time? Or does she actually like me.

I groan and slide off my bean bag chair. Why am I over thinking this? The girl I've had a crush on since I was a freshman in high school, is interested in me! I should be happy but something feels wrong.

I sit criss cross and think of what I should do about this dilemma. The only logical solution that comes to my head is to call Jennie and tell her my situation. Duh!

I text Jennie and she immediately tells me she's on her way. She doesn't live too far so I decided to grab a few quick snacks out of the pantry. When I stop in front of the pantry I see Paige bent over, trying to find something. I take a deep breath and decide to talk to her.

"Looking for something?"

Paige jumps up and squeals, turning around in horror. I slap my hand onto my mouth in order to keep myself from laughing. This doesn't do anything as little snickers escape my lips.

"Oh my gosh, don't do that, you scared me!"

I begin to cackle and Paige tells me to stop laughing at her.

"It's not funny!"

"I'm sorry." I sigh, whipping my tears from laughter.

She bites her cheek and stuffs her hands into her pockets.

"So...what were you looking for?"

"The chocolate covered almonds, I don't know where you guys get them from, but they're addicting."

"Oh~ Sorry they're kinda all gone." I hiss.

Paige looks at me distraught.

"Gone? But I love those things!"

"It's ok, we can always buy more."

"No." She pouts.

Paige is being more emotional than usual. I'm not complaining, I actually find it pretty cute. Normally she's calm and has a hard demeanor, but I like this side of her.

"We get them at Trader Joe's if you wanna go get them tomorrow." I say, looking down at my feet.

Paige doesn't respond, causing me to look up from my feet and see her mischievous grin.

"Well... I'm kinda craving them now so...maybe we should go get them now?" She says rocking back onto her heals.

I feel a smile make its way to my face.
