The Interview

    "Okay, well, who are some of your biggest influences?" Kid Ritz asked.
    "Honestly, Vel's always been my inspiration," I answered, looking at Velvet.
    "My biggest inspiration? Mmm, I'd have to go with also me!" Velvet said with a confident smile.
    "One thing's for sure, after two months on the scene, the superstar duo will receive the prestigious Lifer Award. That's celebrating a lifetime of achievements! Be sure to catch their performance this weekend at the Rage Dome! Last question, how do you guys stay the biggest superstars Mount Rageous has ever known? What's your secret?" Kid Ritz asked as he tilted his head slightly.
    "Secret? We don't have a secret! Who said we have have a secret?!" I chuckled nervously before panicking.
     Velvet grabbed me and forced me to stay still. Was this her attempt at calming me down?
     "What my calm, casual sounding brother means to say is it's simple, really. It just-.." Velvet continued talking. I started to get lost in my own thoughts. Did the interviewer notice anything off? Does he know our secret? No, he doesn't know. Velvet saved us from any suspicion.
     "Veneer? Are you okay?" Kid Ritz's words pull me back to reality.
     I see Velvet aggressively waving her hands in my face. She looks annoyed.
     "Huh? Oh sorry, didn't mean to space out," I chuckled. Kid Ritz smiled at me.
     "Finally, thought you might have died in your chair!" Velvet laughed but I didn't hear her.
     I focused on his smile. It was so pretty. The prettiest smile I've ever seen. Not even the smile that Velvet has when she's genuinely happy is as pretty as his. Of course, he just and to stop smiling. Why does a smile end as quickly as it arrived?
     When I focused on reality, I noticed Kid Ritz staring at me. Velvet was staring at me too. Why were they staring? This is making me feel uncomfortable.
    "Um helloooo?? Earth to Veneer! Commercial break! Also I want Starbucks," Velvet stated as she started to pull me towards the door. Kid Ritz waved goodbye while chuckling. Why does my chest feel.. fuzzy all of a sudden?
