Incapable // Yang Jungwon ff

I

   Year 1224

  Running across the woods Jungwon found himself lost and confused. "Damn it! Where did he go?" He screamed to himself frantically looking around in hopes to find said "he". Stopping in his tracks he gripped his sword tighter, placed his feet deeper into the dirt, closed his eyes, and started to breathe slowly trying to pin point the mans whereabouts. He waited 20 seconds before a sudden crunch behind him was heard Jungwon hearing that quickly turned around and without even thinking  he swung his sword.

"You're faster than expected" the man said while he chuckled. Upon hearing that Jungwon  opened his eyes to see that said he was now holding jungwon's sword in his own hand. "But I'm faster!"

 The man ran at Jungwon aiming the sword directly to his chest. Jungwon quickly fell backwards to avoid his attack, luckily his plan worked. When he buried his feet into the dirt he created a small enough hole that if the man attacked he could fall backwards without anything stopping him. While falling backwards Jungwon kicked the man in the hand which dropped his sword. The mans face turns into a menacing grin. Jungwon quickly got up grabbing his sword and attacking him once again. Jungwon could have sworn he was to the left of him but when he charged at him he was suddenly to his right.

"W-What?" Jungwon mumbles clearly in a confused state

"What's the matter? You look like you've just seen a ghost" The man laughed out loud sending chills down Jungwon's spine

"How are you to my right? You were JUST to my left!" Jungwon yelled at the man trying to make sense of what just happened.

"I did tell you I was faster did I not?"  The man stood up straight cracking his back. The moonlight shined on his skin and that's when Jungwon got a good look at him. His skin was almost glowing... transparent even. He looked at the mans face and noticed that he looked exhausted yet had so much energy to fight, Jungwon felt uneasy. 

"What...What are you?" Jungwon slightly stumbled back while continuing to look dead at the mans eyes.

"Well since I am going to kill you I might as well just let you know. I'm what you humans would say a vampire" The man opened his mouth showing off his sharp teeth.

Jungwon stared in disbelief unable to comprehend what he is seeing or what he just heard. A vampire? That's impossible sure he has heard rumors in the town but gossip is everywhere. Instead of giving a response back Jungwon just laughed. The so called vampire's face scrunched in an angry expression, in the blink of an eye  the man was now face to face with Jungwon. 

"You dare laugh?"

He grabbed Jungwon by the throat which caused him to drop his sword by the unexpectedness of his speed and strength. Coughing Jungwon tried to get the mans grip from his throat but it seemed impossible. His strength was far too much for the 20 year old to combat. Everything was turning dark when suddenly the man threw Jungwon to the floor. Coughing up blood Jungwon seen the man walk up to him. He placed his hand on his throat and suddenly Jungwon felt normal...as if nothing happened. Confused Jungwon backed away from the man while still being on the ground.

"Only a vampire can do what I just did to you. If I truly wanted to I could have already killed you hours ago but I didn't kill you unlike the royal family." He continued walking closer to Jungwon

"You see the difference between the king and his family and you is your scent. Your loyalty to serving, protecting, and dying to them is something so unremarkable...it's strong. I can smell your blood thirst even now it's so strong...so sweet I wanted to indulge in it more. You are a great knight I must say but the thing you lacked, which is exactly why you are going to die, is you aren't me. You cant beat someone who has centuries on you with supernatural abilities to a mere human little boy can you?" The man started to laugh. 

Jungwon doesn't know what to say. Everything makes sense... How he got into the castle, the way he killed the guards and other knights, the swiftness and quickness on how he killed the whole royal family, how undetectable he was until jungwon had caught him, what he did just now everything checks off to someone supernatural something he can't compete with. 

"Don't lose hope I smell the defeat! Give it your best shot knight!"

 The vampire was now in front of Jungwon again unlike before Jungwon doesn't fight back. Why should he if he is going to die anyways? Despair flooded his mind hindering him defeated. The vampires smile faded and disgust was clear as day written on his face.

"This is why human disgust me. You lost your ability to live in seconds it's so nasty and to think I gave you a proper chance to fight me"

He grabbed Jungwon by the throat again but before he could start choking Jungwon to death Jungwon stabbed him in the eye with his smaller sword he kept hidden. Jungwon figured if he acted like he gave up that would cause the vampire's guard to drop allowing Jungwon to attack him. The vampire stumbled back grabbing his eye and groaning in agony. Without letting another second pass Jungwon picked up his bigger sword putting  it through the vampires chest. The vampire let go of his wounded eye to grab the blade of the sword trying to push it out with his strength. Jungwon faced with life or death kept pushing as hard as he could until they hit a tree. 

"What is your sword made of" He managed to say while coughing up blood 

"Pure silver" He answered continuing to push the sword deeper into his chest.

Jungwon is a knight for the royal family and they only used the best of the best when it came to armor and swords. Jungwon heard somewhere that vampires weaken with pure silver so he gambled his chances on this working. In the corner of his eye he seen the sun slowly start to creep in. Jungwon's chances of winning are getting gradually bigger. 

"You- You are so... soo amazing" the vampire smiles creepily.

"In all of my years I've never met a human like you. You are the only one to get this close to properly defeat me. The way you used what I said about your smell to deceive me in such little time...it's so beautiful. You will make an amazing vampire"

"Wait wha-"

Before Jungwon could finish his statement the vampire swiftly bite into his neck causing Jungwon's grip to loosen a bit. The pain was so intense he felt the venom flood into his vein the pain was something he could not fully describe. It was painful, yet felt good, cold, yet so warm. Jungwon let go of the sword now due to his body being incredibly stiff. The vampire used all of his strength to pull the sword out of his chest and jungwon fell to the ground. With the sun inching closer and closer the vampire uttered his final words to him.

"Enjoy my sweet venom, I'll see you again knight"

The Vampire quickly left and everything turned black as the sun fully shined on Jungwon now.
