Prompt: Dream is scared of thunderstorms
3rd person:
The house was silent for a change, no shouting or screaming, no arguing, and especially none of Sapnap's annoyingly loud music blasting through his office speakers. Patches was curled up on Dream's side, purring softly, matching the rhythm of the slow rise and fall of Dream's chest. Everything was finally peaceful until...
!BANG!
Dream shot up in bed, breathing heavy and tears in the corners of his eyes. Rain poured down outside of the window, wind whistling and trees blowing.
!BANG!
Dream yelps, curling in on himself with tears flowing at a steady pace and soaking into his bedsheets. Patches had already migrated underneath the bed got comfort, leaving Dream with only a stuffed animal. He reached down the side of his bed and pulled out the stuffed bear from where it was hidden.
!BANG!
He jumped again, covering himself up with the blanket and clutching the teddy bear close to his chest.
George pov:
It was around 4:30AM when I woke up needing to use the restroom, when I finally got out from under the covers, the first thing I noticed was the raging storm outside, rain hitting the window and the dark clouds that were covering the sky. I've always enjoyed storms, finding the loud bangs and bright flashes quite fascinating. I made my way down the hall and to the toilet, making sure to not accidentally wake anyone up on the way past.
After finishing my business and washing my hands, I began walking back towards my bedroom since it was still far to early to be awake on a Saturday. I first made my way past Sapnap's room, hearing loud snoring and the sound of waves that were coming from his alexa.
I then made my way past Dream's room, as i was aboug to step away, i thought I heard quiet cries coming from inside but I wasn't sure, why would Dream be upset? I decided to check anyway, slowly pushing the door open careful not to wake him incase he was sleeping. The first thing I saw was Dream curled up on his bed with his eyes screwed shut, one hand on a teddy bear and the other covering his ear that wasn't pressed to his mattress. Worriedly, I ran over to the bed and sat next to Dream.
Dream pov:
I felt the bed dip down next to me. Sitting up, I see George sat there, a worried expression evident on his face.
"Hey," I say, quickly wiping my tears away.
"What's wrong? He asks softly, pulling me into a side hug.
"Nothing, I'm fine," I respond, sniffling so I don't get any snot on his shirt.
"No you're not, tell me what's up." I shook my head, pulling away from the hug and squeezing my teddy bear. "Dreammm!" He added, dragging out the m.
"It's stupid."
George pov: (sorry for all the pov changes)
"I'm sure it's not"
"It is tho-" He was cut off.
!BANG!
Dream grasped my shirt and whimpered slightly, "oh.." i muttered quietly, "you don't like the thunder" he nodded, signalling that he agreed with me. I don't know how I didn't realise! Of course he doesn't like the thunder, he hates loud noises. I pulled him closer to me, letting him snuggle into my chest. "Its okay, everyone has their fears," I told him, "Come on, do you want to stay here or go watch a movie on the couch?"
"Movie," He mumbled quietly as he slowly got up off the bed.
3rd person:
They made their way downstairs and into the living room, Dream bringing his teddy bear and George grabbing a fluffy blanket from the cupboard on the way past. Both of them sat down on the couch, Dream pressed up into the corner and George snuggled up on his side for comfort. The brunet draped the blanket over the both of them, switching on the tv.
About 20 minutes into the movie, footsteps could be heard making their way down the stairs, "What are you doing watching a movie without me??" Sapnap said, bursting into the room, way to energetic for 5am.
"Dream was scared so we came down here."
"Scared of what?" Sapnap responded, raising an eyebrow.
"The thunder." Sapnap burst out laughing almost immediately as Dream hid himself under the blanket in embarrassment.
"SAPNAP!" George yelled, getting up from his spot on the and running towards the younger.
"AHHHHHHH!" Sapnap screamed in a high pitched voice as he began to run in circles around the room. George chased him, almost tripping a few times. Dream let out a few soft laughs as Sapnap finally gave up, sitting on the other side of the couch. George cuddled back under the blanket next to Dream.
!BANG!
Another really loud clash of thunder boomed, causing the taller to flinch and squeeze George's arm.
"Okay but seriously, why didn't you tell us earlier? There's been so many storms since i moved in and you're clearly terrified."
"I thought you would make fun of me," Dream whispered quietly, looking away from Sapnap.
"Oh Dream, we would never, everyone has their fears, they can't help it."
"You were literally just laughing at him," George commented.
"Oh shut it Gogy."
"Okay Snapmap," The brunet replied with an eye roll, earning a harsh glare from Sapnap.
"Let's just watch the movie."
Dream pov:
I cuddled further into George, if that was even possible, and clutched the teddy bear next to us.
After about 10 minutes I heard soft snores coming from his mouth, looking down I planted a kiss on the crown of his hair.
"You're going to have to confess to him at some point you know." Sapnap said, looking away from the movie playing on the TV and making eye contact with me.
I gave him a confused look, even though I knew exactly what he was on about. "Don't look at me like that, you know exactly what I mean." He deadpanned.
"I know," I cut myself off with a sigh, "I'm just....nervous? I guess, like what if he doesn't like me like that?"
"You cannot be serious right now," I gave him a confused look, "Dream, I'm not being funny but he came and made sure you were okay, put on your favourite movie, and is currently asleep while cuddled up to your chest."
"Oh."
"Yeah. I think you have a good chance at this, and honestly I think it'll be good for you."
I hummed in agreement, "This week maybe."
"Good, now get some rest, I can see how tired you are," Sapnap said, getting up and making his way into the kitchen, presumably to get some breakfast.
"I love you," I whispered to the boy in my arms, closing my eyes to finally get some sleep. "I love you too," I thought I heard before finally dozing off. Maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me.
I guess we'll never know.
