Vampire Hunters (Vol. 1)

Chapter 3, Resist and Bite

[𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕]

It all goes white for a moment and I can't hear anything, but once I come back to my senses I'm on the floor and being shaken by a priest, and there are vampires all around attacking people. "What happened?" I ask. "Vampires!" They say. "They came to the church!" "What do we do!?" "Just try to survive, what else!?"

Without anything else being needed to be said I got up and dodged right as a vampire came diving down on us, the priest, however, wasn't as lucky. Thinking quickly and blindly I pull out my pocket knife and stab at the vampire, the priest escapes his grasp, but I can tell he is very hurt. Since the vampire is now dizzy from the escape I run away to try to not get grabbed. I'm going to run outside and escape, but then I see an explosion and the entrance in the yard crumbles inward, so now there really isn't an escape.

I saw the traps set up at the entrance, so I disarmed the bear traps and snuck around the claymore. Nobody seemed to notice that I snuck in. So now I'm waiting for Eric to get here, I see someone get grabbed but someone else helps them get out, I don't want to reveal my weaponry until Eric gets here so I'm just waiting for him. A few minutes go by and he comes rushing in, making the claymore explode and him getting hurt by some shrapnel, the entrance caving in.

"Really, Eric!?" I yell "What? It was fun huh?" "YOU COULD HAVE DIED." "No need to be such a buzzkill." "Just get the vampires already." "Fine."

I pull out my Heffner and fire at one of the vampires, nailing them directly in the head, but they are still standing. "Hunters!" They scream and they quickly grab someone and pull them away. Eric has pulled out his GKAuto and is rushing in for an attempt of spraying bullets into a vampire. Some of the vampires took notice of the gunman and grabbed Eric, I'm not too concerned about him though, I know he can escape, but one of the civilians grabs his gun as he dropped it when he got grabbed, and now they are trying to shoot the vampires but they are mainly just missing their shots. Sometimes they will get a lucky shot off, but the vampire just grabs them straight after. Unfortunately, I have been unable to kill any as of yet, but I can tell that there is one that is very hurt, so I'm aiming for that one, Eric, on the other hand, is going hand-to-hand with one of the vampires.

Damnit. I've run out of ammo in my gun, I could go to a refill box but that would take too long. There is only one thing I can do.

Devin pulled out his baseball bat and started running over to the entrance where Eric and Huntsman, one of the vampires, were, but Eric got grabbed, and he would die if he didn't escape. But he Didn't have enough time. So, Devin ran over to Huntsman and hit him with his baseball bat as hard as he could! This made said vampire get dizzy and let go of Eric.

"Thanks!" Eric said, injured.

"Take these bandages and patch yourself up before you die." Devin said, handing the bandages to Eric. Devin noticed that Huntsman was very hurt, so he finished off the vampire with his baseball bat, the upper half of his bat following with the vampire.

"Damnit, my bat's broken!" Devin calls out.

"I'll cover you! Get more ammo!" Eric calls back. Devin, assured that Eric has got his back, goes to the resupply and has to individually reload each cylinder for his revolver. Meanwhile, further inside the church, some are dead, and some are undead, revived by Infect for the moment to help fight, many injured. Some were poisoned, bitten, punched, stabbed, hit, crushed, or bruised. Despite this and many relatives dying, the survivors will not let up. The vampires thought they would just run away and hide, but John's act earlier and the hunters here have motivated them to fight back. Devin is about to get grabbed, but Eric blocks the hit with some garlic, making the vampire go away. By this point Devin is almost finished resupplying, and Eric saw someone get grabbed so he ran over and started punching it with the garlic, trying to help the person escape, it seems to be futile but the person looks like they are slowly wiggling their way out on their own. Eventually they escape but they seem very hurt. Devin finishes reloading and starts blasting at that vampire. Then, a voice rings from behind him. "Who the hell do you think you are," the voice rings out in a hiss, "Devin Kylie?".
