"giraffe." felix whispered to himself as he looked at his face in the mirror. he woke up in a gloomy mood, not being able to forget what he overheard those kids say. he thought a shower would make him forget, but here he was standing in front of the mirror, picking apart the flaws on his freshly washed face. come to think of it, he's never seen another korean person with freckles like he has. it did make him look funny, didn't it? if only he could get back in the shower and wash them all off.

that's when he had an idea... of how he could "wash off his freckles". he threw on his pink plaid skirt and white sweatshirt and ran down the hall to his older sisters room. "hey noona?" he knocked, hoping she was awake. "come in!" she shouted from the inside of her bedroom. felix walked in and found her sitting at her desk, watching something on her laptop. "what's wrong?" she frowned, seeing that felix was upset. "i was wondering if i could borrow some of your makeup? i haven't bought any since moving here." he said shyly.

he knew how to apply makeup, but he hardly ever wore it because of how hot it was in australia. he would occasionally wear it in the cooler months there, but he didn't bring any to korea since he already had so many things to bring during the move. "yeah, of course!" she said as she hopped out of her chair and started looking around in her closet. she pulled out a big caboodle full of different makeup products and gave it to felix, "just set it outside my door when your done using it." she told him with a soft smile. he thanked her and ran back to the bathroom and opened the caboodle, searching for foundation he could use to cover his freckles.

he found her foundation, and started to put the light toned cream on his cheeks. lucky for him, his sister has the same skin shade as he does. he took out a sponge and started blending the makeup all throughout his face. he added some contour after that, because he didn't want to look like a pale ghost. still better then a giraffe though. he took a step back and looked at himself in the mirror, and he stood there staring for a moment as he fought a tear or two from slipping out. what happened to his love for his glitter-like freckles? what happened to his "it's all gonna work out" attitude? did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? how did his feelings change so drastically in only one day? he couldn't help but feel upset.

he resisted any urge he had to cry, and put all the makeup back in the caboodle, and left it in front of his sisters room. he grabbed his pastel pink coat and his book bag, and he laced up his pink and white nikes and made his way to school before he was late,
with a frown and an empty stomach.

"changbin hyung!" seungmin shouted as he lightly hit the sleepy boy in the back of the head. "we're at school, stay awake." he added as changbin took his body weight off of his locker and yawned. seungmin looked like a sweetheart, but he had no problem telling people the truth. he could be quite the savage sometimes. "i'm trying to sleep now, so i don't fall asleep later in class." changbin explained. "maybe you should try getting some sleep when your supposed to." hyunjin suggested. "let's be real, who here actually gets sleep?" jisung groaned in a sleepy voice. "me." seungmin chimed in, "what's sleep?" chan asked pretending to be confused, when everyone knew he was joking. if anyone here needed sleep, it was definitely chan. chan had already graduated highschool, but he usually drives changbin and jisung to school since the three of them share an apartment. since he doesn't have school to worry about, he'll often stay up all night working on songs him and his roommates write.
