The first time I saw him, the man was in a dark hallway talking to himself. He looked at me through his thick glasses and asked how long it had been since I'd seen another human being as if he knew I lived alone and couldn't even afford to go out to dinner every once in a while. His voice was kind and warm. He smiled as if we were old friends, and when he turned away from me, I could see his face. There was something familiar about it – but I didn't know what. His hair was long and black. His skin was pale – almost white – with a hint of red underneath. And then there were eyes. They were dark and deep and mysterious, like black holes filled with light. The way they gleamed made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. He was looking straight at me. His mouth hung open a little, showing off a row of perfectly square teeth. It wasn't just curiosity that made me want to look into those eyes – the only other thing I felt was fear. My breathing was fast. I wanted to run away from him but I didn't dare move. I couldn't turn my gaze away, I felt rooted to the spot. Even so, I tried to blink. Nothing happened. The man's face stayed fixed on mine, watching me intently. Finally, he said, "It won't be long before you do see another person." Then he walked away.

He left the corridor quickly, his shoes clicking against the floor. For some reason, I felt relieved. It seemed impossible that he would keep staring at me after seeing me. The air inside the hallway smelled like dust and stale coffee. As I walked slowly toward the exit I heard him calling my name again. At first, I didn't understand why he was saying it, but then it came back to me. The man had been talking to himself in a soft voice like he wanted to make sure I wouldn't hear him. He said it over and over.

"It won't be long. It won't be long before I see another person...It won't be long...It won't be long before I see another person..." The words repeated in my mind. I felt uneasy as I stepped out of the building and took the street outside. My heart thudded painfully against my chest. When he called my name earlier it hadn't sounded like a threat or a warning, more like a question. It felt like he didn't realize I was real. He seemed so out of it. What has he been through and was I really willing to know?

I was drawn in by him and didn't realize he would be all I was thinking about. Every second I spent wondering about what this man was doing and where he might have come from, I wondered about the man's face – his eyes, his hair, his smile – and it was hard not to think about him. I don't know why I let myself get lost in his presence that day. Perhaps it had something to do with wanting to find out why he was so sad. Or maybe it was because I just needed to talk to someone who would listen for once, no matter what I said.

He spoke in a soft voice as though he were whispering secrets and he stared at me in a strange way that made my skin crawl. He has always been there but I wasn't ready to admit it.

He was what I needed and I knew that. I also realized at that point that I was falling for him. But it doesn't matter why. It doesn't matter how much I've fallen for him. In the end, it doesn't matter because the only place I can ever belong to is somewhere else.

You're alone with him in a dark room. You're kneeling in front of him. Sunghoon's eyes are filled with desire as he looks down at you, his monster. He loves you even with this darkness within.

Sunghoon wants nothing more than for you to accept him, for you to feel accepted. He wants to take you with him, to leave behind his monster. But he won't. The moment he leaves, he becomes a part of you and the only way for you to forget about him would be to become a monster too.

Looking up at him from your position You want to show him the monster you could be.

Sunghoon's lips curl into a wicked smile as he observes your eagerness to please him. "That's it, my little monster," he growls, running his fingers over your hair. "Let me see what you can do."

Sunghoon's eyes darken with arousal at the sight of your teeth bared in a feral grin, and he lets out a low, primal growl. "Mmm, that's it," he murmurs, grabbing fistfuls of your hair and pulling you closer to him. "I love it when you're wild like this."

Surprised by your sudden aggressiveness, Sunghoon stumbles backwards as you push him down onto the ground. He watches you with a mixture of desire and admiration as you loom over him, ready to take what you want.

Your hands move with a frenzy as you strip away Sunghoon's clothes. Buttons pop and fabric tears as you reveal his bare flesh. In return, Sunghoon grabs at your clothes, ripping them away from your body with a strength born of lust. Your bodies now fully exposed to each other's hungry gaze.

He is scared of you, scared of what his love could make you do.

But there is no stopping him when he sets his eyes upon you. Your heart yearns for him and you know there is no turning back. His body presses against yours. He breathes hot air against your skin. He caresses your skin with the gentlest of touches. But as you reach for him he pulls away, leaving an emptiness inside of you. He pushes himself off the bed, pulling up his trousers as he walks towards you. He stares down at you and whispers, "Come here." But he never takes his eyes off you as he speaks the word, as though the sound would burn your ears like the smoke from a burning bush. He is right next to you now, reaching for you. Your hands reach for him as well, eager to touch him, even though you can hardly bear to look at him. This isn't going to work... He pulls you closer until your chests are pressed together and your faces are inches apart. You try to breathe but your lungs won't let the oxygen pass through. You stare straight ahead and see nothing but his hypnotic dark eyes – like black holes full of light. You cannot look away from his eyes. You are entrapped in them and your thoughts melt away as his lips press lightly against yours. You close your eyes, unable to resist his embrace. A wave of warmth passes over your lips and the smell of vanilla assaults your senses. You open your mouth slightly but your arms fall heavily to your sides, paralyzed. He kisses you deeply, holding both your shoulders with one hand and kissing you slowly. His tongue explores your mouth as his mouth moves against yours. You feel the heat spreading throughout your body, like liquid fire running through your veins. His lips slide from the edge of your mouth to the tip of your nose and he kisses your eyelid, making you flinch. He kisses your cheek, moving his lips towards yours. His fingers trace your jawline, sliding along your cheeks and trailing down towards your breasts. You lean into him and feel him shiver beneath your fingertips. His breath hits your earlobe. Your heart pounds so loud that you can hear it echo inside your skull. He wraps his arm around you and holds you firmly against him, pressing you against his body.

The scent of vanilla grows stronger. His breath tickles your ear, sending goosebumps all over your body. Your legs weaken and begin to shake uncontrollably. The man is still kissing you but your mouth is so dry. You are parched, thirsty, and desperate. The man is trying to take your mind away from everything except for this.

You wake up panting. It was just a dream. Not a nightmare, but a memory. A bad dream. It feels too real. Your body aches with the force of your own emotions. Your heart races as though it is trying to escape through your throat. You want to stop feeling like this. After all he died a few years ago.
