...
"Did you hear? They say another village went missing in one night. Not a trace of blood or sign of life or struggle either." She whispered to her friend.
"Really? That's pretty odd..."
"Yes, but they say with every village that goes missing, a mysterious woman is spotted planting flowers into the soil."
"Very odd... let's head to the shrine and pray for our safety." The woman suggested.
Night had fallen not too long after, everyone being shut within their houses, only a few walking the dead roads of the village. Among these few stragglers were the two women, they'd just got done celebrating a friend's birthday and were on their way home.
Their sandals tapped the ground lightly as they walked and talked, soon reaching one of the girl's house.
"Bye bye Korai-chan!" Waving farewell to her friend, she waited until she was safely within the house with the door closed to turn her back and make way to her own home.
During this silent walk, she couldn't help but wonder about the vanishing villages. All those families, gone within one night without a chance to fully live their lives.
It was scary, and she truly hoped their prayers would be heard as she had yet to marry the man of her dreams. It was childish but that's what she wanted.
Letting out a sigh, her head raised to gaze at the moonlit sky. It was rather bright tonight, and the stars seemed to shine more than ever. Continuously gazing, she halted her steps as something odd began to take place within the sky.
One moment it was bright, but as she stared the sky slowly began to turn a deep crimson. There were no more stars nor moon and a giant flower manifested itself within the middle.
Opening its petals one by one in a swift beautiful motion, she couldn't help but be captivated by its beauty.
"Miss, have you seen my husband?"
Looking away from the sky, she jumped slightly at the woman standing before her. When did she get there?
"O-oh uhm...what's his name? Maybe I could help!" She answered with a weary smile. The newcomer blinked, and the village girl couldn't help but feel scared.
Something about her was off, she didn't know what but the smile she offered after being offered help seemed vacant and void of emotion. Her eyes too seemed to flicker a different color.
Shaking her head, she blinked a couple of times.
"Miss? Did you hear me? I said his name is Sukuna." The woman answered.
"Sukuna? Oh, I've never...heard of..." Stopping mid sentence, she felt the blood running within her body go cold. This...
This woman.
She looked familiar.The blank face.
The dead eyes.
The heavy junihitoe kimono that was only one color; white.
And the...
The...
The plucked red spider lily within her hand.
It was her. The woman who would be seen at the newly gone villages.
The courting woman hummed in distaste as she twirled the flower within her hand. Gazing at its beauty, she then laid eyes on the shaking figure of the village girl.
"It seems you know who I am..." Smiling once more, she took the woman's hands into her very own.
Placing the flower into her hands, she wrapped the girl's fingers around it, never once taking her eyes off of her face.
"You are so pretty..."
Pop!
Blood splattered onto the cursed woman's face but her smile remained. She didn't flinch when the head of the girl popped, or when the body fell to the ground limply; still holding the flower she gave.
She only smiled.
"Too bad Beautiful things must die before they rot and become ugly."
Now looking at the body with disgust, she began to grow numerous large flowers from the ground to engulf all those who reside there.
"My, how rude of me. I forgot to introduce myself."
Ignoring the screams of innocent and guilty people as thy tried to run for their lives, she bowed.
"I am (Lastname) (Name)."
...
The veil was gone. The sky being shown once more to the now empty village. (Name) stood there, admiring just how spotless her work was. To commemorate yet another mass killing, she squatted down and began planting a flower.
