INDIANA WALSH counted down the days until spring break, until she could leave her university and head back home to Woodland, Georgia, where her father still lives in the house she grew up in. He still tends the fields of the farmland around them, over the hills where the world seems to stop spinning.
All it took was one day and now the earth seems to have truly stopped spinning. Halted, and now turning the other way.
Indiana Walsh never thought she'd have to begin counting the days since the world ended; since an infectious disease took every country by storm. And now she'd do anything to feel like she's helping and not just sitting still. Even if it means helping the group of strangers that shows up one day on her neighbor's farm, a family member in tow.
EVEN IF it means getting to know the guy not much older than her who talks very little, but says a whole lot with his eyes.
EVEN IF THE WORLD STOPPED SPINNING and it's beginning to rot, until then, she'll take what she can get to feel like she's not rotting away with it.

! this is my second walking dead fic. i'm starting this one after finishing my first that's published on my page !
the first one i wrote followed the seasons of the show, and although i added my own twist on the plot throughout, i really wanted to mess around with writing a walking dead fic that focuses on the earlier seasons (before the prison). the show, in my opinion, holds such a different vibe in the first 2 seasons than the rest; the shots and coloring in the scenes (that one sunset in the background while they're on the highway, wow), the way the characters still had their humanity, when they still had a bit of 'normalcy' to their lives, etc. i want to write about that. and daryl dixon, i very much want to write about him too.
