Lost and Powerless (Nico Di Angelo mets BatFam)

Chapter 3

Nico's POV

When I woke up I looked over and noticed somebody in my room. I jolted awake and noticed that they staring at my drawing. I walked over and asked them what they were doing. I noticed it was Dick when he jumped away in fright. He then said "I came to tell you to come down for breakfast but I noticed your drawings." I nodded accepting the answer. That's when I realised he was looking at the small piece of writing on the bottom of the drawing. 

I ran into the bathroom to get changed and shower, I changed into a baggy sweater and some baggy shorts. The minute I walked out of the bathroom Dick asked me "How long have you been drawing for? These are amazing!" I stared at him for a while and said "I don't really know.." Dick looked at me and said "How do you not know? Do you have some sort of amnesia or something?" I gave him a quick shrug and said "I mean I don't remember most of my childhood but whatever."  and walked down to the dining room to avoid him as he gave me that stupid look of pity that I hated.

We were having crepes today and anything we really wanted so I went and grabbed a Nutella crepe and took small bites because I was told that eating to much would practically make a demigod explode though I didn't know what had happened to my powers so maybe it won't do that but who knows. Bruce made a cough so I looked up at him and tilted my head in confusion and Bruce said "We have to go and start your etiquette lessons." I nodded and cleaned my plate and waited for Bruce and my brothers to finish their food. Like can you be any slower. Finally they had finished and I noticed something on the floor sneaking through the tiles in the kitchen. It was a vine that had a flower on the end of it and when I approached it, it become taller and was right in my face, I stumbled back when it grew and heard a giggle through the window. 

I picked off the flower on the end and it was a large white hibiscus and it had a message on it. When I read it, I realised it was in greek, I was grateful because I was dyslexic as hell and it read "Hi, Delicate Flower. It's Ivy, call me through the plants when you need help."  I smiled and put it in my pocket before the family finally finished their food. We walked to a room and it looked like a ballroom, I already knew this was going to be really annoying. 

Bruce then said to me "We each are going to help you with an area in formal gala etiquette. Dick's  on conversation, Tim's on manners, I'm on talking to the media, Damian's on dancing and finally Jason's on safety protocols." I groaned this was going to be a long day and my brothers snickered. To be completely honest I would rather spend time with Ivy. 

First was Dick, then Tim then Bruce then Jason and finally Damian. The entire time I was bored and just wanted to leave but I had to learn this. I'm pretty sure my brothers had the same attitude towards galas as I was acquiring. However when we went to lunch I saw a vine through the window so I decided to approach it and excepting to find a message but I found Ivy. 

"Ivy!" I shouted when I saw her ascending with her vines up to the window. "Shush, I wanted to wish you luck at your gala." I heard scampering footsteps and as Ivy pulled herself through the window, my brothers appeared. They quickly ran over to us and Bruce picked me up like a cat and Ivy jumped back out the window yelling "Good luck, My Delicate flower." Now the attention turned to me and I gave a sheepish smile as a response for their glares.

"You can't keep talking to supervillains when they show up at the house, I told you before to come and grab one of us!" Bruce yelled at me and I said in retaliation "Well I did yell out her name to alert you!" I actually yelled that out in shock not to grab your attention I thought. Bruce sighed and we walked to go and eat some lunch. The walk there was strange as I saw them glancing at everything around us as if Ivy was going to jump up out of the floorboards and just grab me and pull me through the city again in a vine harness.
