Yet another day with no sucess. It was getting cruely repetitive for Kaeya.
No matter how hard he tried or how hard he'd try to reconcile with Diluc, it always ends with a cold shoulder turned to him, never once meeting his helpless gaze.
Kaeya flopped onto his bed, eyes weary and clearly exhausted after having to handle all his knightly duties.
"Another fail. Tch, what's new?" He scoffed, trying to get some shut-eye.
But, despite trying to put up an unbothered front, Kaeya was heartbroken. He had never wanted things to end up how they were now, and he still couldn't accept that Diluc had basically cut all ties with him.
Kaeya's hand brushed over his face lightly, when suddenly he realized. He was crying.
"I'm..crying..?" Kaeya muttered in disbelief. He couldn't even remember the last time he felt such raw emotions.
He quickly wiped the tears off his face as he sat up from his bed. Thinking a walk could help him get his mind off today, he quickly slipped on a sweatshirt and made his way out.
As he trudged across the pavement, he hung his head lowly as his thoughts clouded his head.
"Kaaya?" A voice suddenly interrupted his train of thought.
Caught off guard, Kaeya quickly looked up. It was Albedo.
"W-what are you doing here on this lovely night?~" Kaeya asked, trying his hardest not to show that he had just cried a couple minutes ago.
Albedo tilted his head, studying Kaeya's face carefully. Kaeya's cheeks went slightly pink as he locked glances with the blonde.
"Kaeya.." Albedo's voice suddenly softened.
Kaeya didn't even have time to react before Albedo pulled him into a tight embrace.
Kaeya couldn't help it anymore as tears had already started to roll down his cheeks while he silently cried on Albedo's shoulder.
"I-i don't even know why I'm crying..how pathetic, haha..." Kaeya said between choked sobs.
"Don't say that. Now tell me what's the matter Kae." Albedo asked, wrapping his arms even tighter around him.
Kaeya broke down about everything that had happened today. From the mountains of work he had to do, to his own brother ignoring his existence. Though he didn't want to admit it, it felt nice finally letting it all out.
Not once did Albedo interrupt him. He stood there silently, holding Kaeya close as he listened attentively to his rants.
"It's going to be okay Kae. I'm sure Diluc doesn't hate you. Maybe he just needs some time to process what happened in the past and that's a natural reaction. As for the knights, you could always ask for a day off if you're feeling overwhelmed. Your mental health and well-being always comes first." Albedo adviced as he pressed a small kiss onto Kaeya's forehead.
Kaeya blushed at the gesture. Albedo had wanted to keep their relationship a secret until he was ready to come out, and now, here he was kissing him in public. Kaeya's heart melted at how Albedo was willing to do anything to make him feel the slightest bit better.
"Thanks 'Bedo. I really appreciate your company..and.. I'm sorry that you had to see me in such a state.." Kaeya thanked, his head still on Albedo's shoulder.
"No need to thank me. And, as your boyfriend, I should see all sides of you, so that I can help you. You don't have to feel you need to hide anything from me." Albedo replied, still keeping his grip tight on the bluenette.
As the two pulled away. Kaeya wiped his tears away for the second time, feeling a lot better. Albedo held his hand as he placed the other over his shoulder.
Kaeya was flushed, how he wanted to kiss this man. He truly was perfect for him.
"May I-" Kaeya's words were swiftly cut off by Albedo placing his lips onto his.
Kaeya, though surprised, reciprocated immediately as he grabbed Albedo by the waist, pulling him closer.
Though both of them looked ridiculous kissing under the moonlight in their sleepwear, all they could think about was each other.
As they pulled away to get a breath of air, Kaeya's eyes met Albedo's. He could already see the blush building up on his face.
"That was..so sexy of you 'Bedo." Kaeya commented, hugging his now incredibly flustered boyfriend.
"Shut up.." Albedo whisper-shouted, pressing his face onto Kaeya's chest.
Kaeya stiffled a small laugh as he ruffled Albedo's hair.
"Let's stay like this for a while.."
