CHAPTER 8

Two months later
The night I disappeared I had help from Giant and he's name isn't actually Giant it's Maurice. I found him at our apartment eating and he said he was waiting for Helena and Liv to get back from the nail salon.

"Why aren't you guarding the future queen?" I had asked. "Ooh she has guards watching her. Sometimes I want her to think that she has put me in a corner." He had smirked. I knew those two were sleeping together.

So I broke down and told him I'm pregnant and I don't know the father and I wanna keep it but I have to disappear. He had said he can't hide anything from Helena but I begged him not to tell. No one has found me so I take it he kept the end of his bargain.

So he took me to the bus stop, bought a ticket with his sister's name on it, so no one traces me, gave me a hefty amount of cash and sent me to Houston where his cousin picked me up and I've been staying with her. She's a gothic girl and at first I was scared of her but she's really nice.

"Wake up lazy pants. We have to go to the clinic before work." I said to her as I put on my earrings. She has a huge nail salon which also has a small bookstore and a cafe and I work at the cafe/bookstore.

"What time is it?" She asked as she rubbed her eyes. "It's 9:32. We have an appointment at 10:30 and you know how traffic gets here." If it wasn't for Maurice I don't know where I would have gone.

"Okay. Let's hurry. Today I have that lady and her daughters and you know how grumpy she gets." I waited for her to get ready. I could drive myself but she doesn't want me to.

Sometimes I do feel guilty running away from Liv and Helena but I don't think they would understand. They would offer to help financially and I would carry that guilt with me forever. I've been independent since I was 8, it's not gonna stop now.

We went to the hospital and arrived just on time. The doctor said everything was okay and I should continue taking my vitamins and then Jade, gothic girl, drove us to work. I mostly stay behind the counter but she has another girl helping me.

It still bothers me why Maurice thought I have security around me. I asked but he never answered. And did I tell you he sends us weekly upkeeps. I told him I don't want his money but he sends it anyway.

He claims it's for his cousin but I know he's lying since Jade is the one who's buying my vitamins. I feel guilty that they're spending on me even if they're offering and want nothing in return.

Yesterday Maurice told me how Olivia is. She got an internship in London and will be moving soon. While Helena is going back home to start her royalty studies. I didn't even know that was a thing. But apparently it is, especially for her because she wasn't born into it.

But she knows pretty much a lot about it considering she grew up being friends with the crown prince and his twin sister. I'm happy for both of them. Although Maurice says they both paid a P.I to find me. I broke down when I heard that. But we covered our tracks, no one will find me.

"You favorite customer is here." Amy said. She prepares the coffees while I'm at the register. Looking up I saw Anton, with his bright smile. I get this gut feeling about him, but I'm pregnant so it could be my little baby in there.

"Hey there pretty. How are my girls doing?" Ooh, forgot to mention he swears my child is a girl. Don't know where he heard that from. "Hey Anton, the usual." I don't entertain him.

Matter of fact, I'm not entertaining any men in the near future. I've already accepted my fate as a single mom. There are lots of single moms around the world, I wouldn't be the first nor the last. I'll be everything my baby needs.

"Yes and I wanna ask you out." He has a strong accent I could swear I've heard someone else speak with the same accent but I can't remember who or where. "Anton!" I sighed.

This is his fifth time he's asking me out. Can't he see how bad I look, I mean I'm carrying a child and I don't know it's father. That should put him off but it hasn't.

"C'mon please. I don't care you're pregnant. He is a fool for letting you go because if I was him, I would have put a ring on this finger." He says as Amy hands him his usual and I take his black American express card. Sometimes I think he's showing off that he has money.

"The answer was no the last four times and it's still no this time." I said handing him back his card which he just stared at it. "Look, I don't even know the father and it's okay if you wanna judge me for that, God knows I do it every single time."

"But I can't just go out with you. I just can't." I said and he stared at me as his thumb rubs my knuckles. "I don't care it's someone else's baby. I just want to take care of you both. If you're scared I won't love your baby because It's someone else's, you're wrong."

"I have so much love to give and I want to give both of you. I wanna share my love with you two. Please just go out once with me and if you don't like me, well I'll have to prove myself during the second date."

I sighed. Anton is a handsome man. He kinda does look like the guy I slept with. I could be wrong though, people look alike all the time. But he gives me weird vibes. I don't know why.

"Lemme think about it. But I have pregnancy brain so I don't know if I'll remember to consider it." We both laugh at that. "Keep the card, buy whatever you need with it. This is me proving myself for my first date." He then kissed my hand and left.

"Girl if you don't want him, I'll take him." Amy said. She can have him honestly I wouldn't even mind.
