Detective Andrew Stanford, seeking a clearer picture of Ben Mitchell's life, focused his attention on Emily. "Emily, can you tell us more about Ben's job at Sole Inc.? What role did he play there?"
Emily, furrowing her brow, responded, "Ben worked at Sole Inc.? That's news to me. As far as I know, he left that job a while ago."
The revelation hung in the air, surprising both Stanford and Myers. "Left the job? Do you know why he left, or where he might have been working since then?" Stanford asked, his curiosity now piqued.
Emily shook her head. "We didn't really keep in touch after the divorce. He never mentioned anything about his job. I assumed he found something else, but I didn't pry."
As the detectives absorbed this unexpected twist, Myers considered the implications. "If Ben was no longer part of Sole Inc., it opens up a whole new avenue of investigation. We need to find out where he was working and what might have led to his departure from Sole Inc."
Stanford, already on his phone, began to dig into Ben's employment history, while Myers continued questioning Emily about the time leading up to the divorce.
The precinct, now charged with the urgency of unraveling a web of mysteries, became a hub of activity as the investigators navigated the twists and turns of Ben's life. The echoes of unanswered questions reverberated, and the shadows deepened as the Myers & Floris Mysteries delved into the unknown territories of a seemingly ordinary man's past.
