sadie's pov:
"no, you're going to sit here and eat dinner." mom said as i walked right back down. "okay." i said, reluctantly.

brady stiffed a laugh as i shot him a look. "shut up." i muttered, earning a grin from jack. "anyway, how was your day, mom?"

she goes on earning pop ins from dad like, "what did you buy?" or "without me?!" jack, too. "that sounded fun." i smiled.

"it was! stephan, are they ready?" mom asked, referring to the burgers my dad was grilling. "yeah just getting them now." he yelled.

"they're gonna be so good." brady said to jack. "i know." we had burgers like once a week, there's to big deal? i thought.

dad came in and everyone got there buns ready, toasted. "so, how's everyone's summer going?" mom asked as i nodded.

"well-" i get cut off by a agitated graving voice. "ours is going well." brady said motioning to him and jack.

"that's good!" mom smiled, she's known brady since he was a baby and our rivalry only started in third grade,

when he threw pudding all over my new white shoes, chocolate pudding. "as i was going to say before i was RUDLEY interrupted,"

i begin, "me, jordan, kory and brooke were hoping to go to the carnival tomorrow, can we?" i ask, hoping for a "yes"

"sure, take the bus and no more than you guys." she warns, last time a bunch of our other friends showed up,

when my mom drove us and we had to wait ages for their rides home- we didn't have enough space.

"thanks! can you load money on card?" she nods and brady turns. "can you tell brooke that i like her tomorrow?" he asks.

i look surprised at him. "brooke? sure?" i say, unsure. "thanks. we've been snapping and laughing talking." he explains.

which is weird because brooke has a boyfriend- "of course," i smile, kind of hurt because i was secretly hoping kory was right.

on him liking me, anyway. i've had feelings for brady for a little while. but it's hard pretending you hate someone- who you have feelings for.
