Brady's pov:

Lately, I've been busy with acting and didn't have time for volleyball. Today is my first practice in a while, and I'm really excited.

As I head to the locker room, I hear my teammates talking loudly. I greet them with a "What's up, guys?" They all give me a friendly welcome, saying things like "It's good to have you back" or "We missed you, bro."

I spot my best friend Jidane across the room, and I walk over to greet him. "What's good, bro? It's been a long time," I say. "I know, it's good to see you. How's it been?" he asks. "I've been busy with the movie and stuff, but I'm glad things are getting back to normal," I reply. Jidane teases, "Normal? You must be tripping; every girl has been obsessed with you since you're back." I laugh and mention, "Shut up, bro. Esme has been all over you since she broke up with me." Jidane rolls his eyes, saying, "I know, and it's fucking annoying. I don't like her like that." He asks, "Are you over her, though?" I explain, "Yeah, we weren't together for that long, and I didn't really have feelings for her anymore."

I look around the room but can't find the person I'm looking for. "Where's Owen? Is he late?" I ask Jidane.

Owen is our volleyball team captain, and it's weird he isn't here yet; he was always early. Jidane raises a brow, "Haven't you heard? The asshole left for another team. We have no team captain at the moment. We need to choose a new team captain in about a month." I laugh in disbelief, saying, "Damn, you've got to be kidding. Who are we choosing as the team captain?" Jidane responds, "Don't know yet, but we have to be quick, or our upcoming game will be at risk."
