*Skye's point of view*
I abruptly awoke. My head was pounding like I was knocked out (literally). Realization hit me. "Shit." I yelled as I looked at my phone to see that it was past 9:30. I was suppose to wake up Savannah like an hour ago. I rolled my eyes and stumbled out of bed. I slowly creaked open Savannahs door as I knocked slightly and walked in. She wasn't anywhere. I searched through her room to see if there was any sign that she already left for school. The only thing I found was a piece of paper sitting on her night stand. I pulled out my phone to use the light. The note read: I needed a little extra help with getting things done. I hope you don't mind I took this little one. Something out broke this morning and I'm afraid I won't survive without the help of others. Good luck finding us, because we have been long gone, considering I made sure you slept long. Just know that if this one acts up, she will end up like the others. Well.. I'd like to get back to work. Good bye, Skye.

The tears began to flow. My sister was.. Taken? To where? By who? Why? I was going through the stages of grief with in minutes. I ran through the house screaming her name, thinking this was all some sick joke. Then I got extremely pissed. "Why my little sister? Huh? What sick bastard would steal the only thing I had left away from me?" My thoughts were going rapid. Let's just say there were a few holes in my wall. The stages just kept coming. Then I finally realized... She's gone. The tears began flowing. After a moment they stopped as realization hit me. "She's not dead.. Just captured. I still have hope." I thought to my self. All of a sudden my phone buzzed. It was a text message from my best friend Allison. It read: Look outside Skye. Humanity has hit rock bottom.
I glanced out the window, and kept reading.
People are eating each other. Well.. I honestly don't believe they are people anymore. Something's.. Wrong with them. Like an infection. Decaying skin, not able to make words just grunts. This world has gone downhill, to the point of no return. I'm sad to say I won't make it much longer. I've been severely bitten by one of those.. things. Stay strong Skye. Pack up your things, take Savannah and go somewhere safe. Fight off those things and dont let them get you. Don't trust anyone. Just.. Please. Live.. That's all I ask of you. Live. I love you so much. Sorry I couldn't call. I honestly can't breath very well. Well.. I guess this is good bye. Stay away from trouble.
A tear fell down my cheek. "She said stay strong you pussy." My self conscious slapped me in the face. I ran up stairs to grab my back pack. She said pack food. I packed pop tarts, water bottles, crackers, cereal, granola bars, and many more boxed foods. I changed into something I could run in instead of PJs. I pulled on my combat boots, I mean if you're gonna be a bad ass you have to feel like a bad ass. Right before I walked out the door I remembered something Savannah would need. I grabbed her favorite stuffed dog that she sleeps with and stuffed it in my back pack. I took a deep breath, grabbed the keys, and stepped out the front door. I was trembling with fear. I had no idea what I would see or experience. I just wish that I didn't have to do it alone.
