RICHIE POV
"Babe, where are we going?" Freeya asked, her arm snuggled around mine.
I smiled at her gesture, a warmth spreading through me. Even a simple act of affection made me feel giddy.
"Just to the park near the overpass," I told her, my voice light. "I think you'll love it."
"Hmm... Are we going to count the stars?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with playful curiosity.
I laughed, shaking my head. "No, babe. We're going to watch the stars. It's beautiful there."
"I'm sure I will, babe. Because you said it's beautiful," she replied, her voice soft and trusting.
I smiled at her response. Our conversation was sweet, the simple moments of affection making my heart swell.
"Yes, but not just because of me. The stars are amazing, and the park is peaceful. It's nice to just walk and relax there."
Freeya smiled, her eyes reflecting the starlight that was already beginning to paint the sky.
As we approached the park, a man suddenly crossed the road, forcing me to slam on the brakes.
"Jesus! Is he trying to commit suicide? Wait, babe, let me get out and talk to that guy," I said, my voice laced with frustration.
But Freeya stopped me, her hand gently on my arm. "Don't let your anger get the best of you, babe, okay?"
"Tsk! It's so annoying!" I replied, my frustration simmering.
We decided to leave the man alone and continued on to the park, where we parked the car.
"We're here," I said, my voice a little breathless.
I didn't know why, but I felt a sudden surge of nervousness. My heart was pounding, a frantic rhythm that I couldn't explain.
Freeya noticed my silence and my gaze fixed on the distance. "Are you okay, babe?" she asked, her voice soft with concern.
"Ah, yes!" I gave a brief response, my voice strained. Despite wanting to make her happy, I couldn't shake this unsettling feeling.
"Just wait, babe, I'll call Becky and ask her to come here."
She nodded, her eyes filled with understanding. She hugged me, her warmth a comforting anchor. Becky answered her phone right away.
"Hello, brother?"
"Becky, come to the park. We'll wait for you here. If you don't see us right away, we'll be at the overpass, okay?"
"Ah, yes, okay, I'm on my way, Richie. Take care, both of you."
I hung up the phone and got out of the car to open the door for Freeya.
"Thank you, babe."
As she got out of the car, her gaze immediately went to the sky. "You're right, it's beautiful here. The surroundings are refreshing, and there are so many stars in the sky."
"I told you, babe, that you would love it here, right?" I said, a grin spreading across my face.
I pinched Freeya's cheek, and she immediately complained about the pain. "Ouch, that hurts!"
We walked around the park, our conversation a happy hum against the backdrop of the night.
"Babe," Freeya said, her hand finding mine. Her eyes held a depth that made my heart skip a beat. "No matter what happens, it'll still be us. Even if there are obstacles in our way, I'll do whatever it takes to be with you."
Freeya smiled, her eyes filled with love. "Babe, you're my life! So if you ever leave me, it'll be my death." She said, her voice laced with a hint of playful seriousness.
"But I promise you, babe, no matter what happens, I won't leave you. I promise you that, Freeya."
Freeya couldn't hold back her tears anymore. They had been threatening to fall since earlier, fueled by the words of her future spouse. "Babe, thank you! You know that you're the only one I'll love, right? No matter what happens, I won't let go and there will be no leaving. I promise!"
They embraced, the cool breeze and the twinkling stars bearing witness to their love, a love that felt as vast and eternal as the night sky itself.
OTHER POV
"Boss? What do you want us to do with them?" one of the men asked, his voice a low murmur.
The Boss smirked, his eyes fixed on the couple, a predatory gleam in their depths. "Let's not rush. Let's wait until they finish their little moment of happiness before we ruin their night."
They all laughed together, their laughter a cruel echo in the stillness of the night.
BECKY'S POV
I'm on the highway, and why is there traffic now? Ugh, of all times to be stuck in traffic. I've been worried since earlier. I hope Richie and Freeya are okay.
Come on! Can't someone make this traffic move? I angrily hit the steering wheel, my frustration mounting with every passing second.
Move already!
After a minute, the traffic finally started moving.
I'm almost there, Richie. I quickly accelerated my car, my heart pounding with a mixture of anxiety and determination.
Meanwhile, Freeya and Richie were happily walking along the overpass, gazing at the stars in the sky, oblivious to the danger lurking in the shadows.
But on the other side of the overpass, four men were approaching them, their faces hidden in the darkness.
RICHIE'S POV
"Hey!"
Both Freeya and I turned to look. I stared at the men, whom I didn't recognize. Their faces were hard, their eyes cold.
"Babe, who are they?" Freeya asked, her voice a whisper of concern.
"Don't mind them, babe. I don't know them," I said, my voice emotionless, my gaze fixed on the men.
"Okay, babe," Freeya said, her voice a soft murmur. She immediately agreed with me and ignored them, hugging me tightly, seeking comfort in our shared warmth.
The Boss: "Oh! So this guy is ignoring us," the Boss said with a sneer, puffing on his cigarette, the smoke curling into the night air like a malevolent serpent.
I clenched my fist in frustration at his behavior. "Am I the one you're calling a snob?" I asked, my voice laced with annoyance. It's frustrating because I don't even know them, yet they seem to be targeting us.
Boss: "Hey, kid! Let me remind you of what that woman you're with did to me and my friends." He pointed at each of the three men, his voice dripping with malice.
"What are you talking about? I don't even know you guys! And the way you're talking, it's like we're already acquainted," I said, my voice rising with anger.
Freeya: "Babe, that's enough. Let's just leave," Freeya intervened, her voice a plea for calm. She knew him, and she wanted to keep me away from harm.
Boss: "Oh! So the pretty lady is with you, huh? Perfect timing, it's chilly tonight. Maybe we can warm her up along with you," the Boss said, his words laced with a chilling threat.
I gritted my teeth in anger at the man's words. "Dude! Never dare to disrespect my wife, or we might have a problem!" I retorted, my voice a low growl.
Boss: "Oh, look at this brave guy, huh? Well, let's see how far your bravery goes," the Boss said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
I quickly approached the men, blocking their path and shielding Freeya to protect her.
"Babe, when I tell you to stay behind me, follow my lead. And if I tell you to run, run, okay?" I said, my voice a mixture of urgency and determination.
Freeya: "I'm scared, babe. Let's just leave," she said tearfully, clinging to my arm, her fear palpable.
Boss: "Oh! Love indeed, you're willing to face everything just to defend her!" The Boss said, his voice laced with a cruel amusement.
After saying that, they laughed, their laughter a mocking echo in the night.
"Oh no! Becky, where are you? I hope you didn't come here," I thought, my heart sinking with dread.
Boss: "What's the matter, handsome? Are you just going to stay there?" the Boss taunted, his voice a sneer.
Boss: "You guys, grab the girl... And that guy! I'll take care of him. Do you know how much I want to teach you a lesson, kid?" the Boss said, his voice a chilling promise.
The three men quickly approached us, along with the Boss.
"Freeya! Run now!" I shouted, my voice a desperate plea.
Freeya: "But Richie, what about you? I won't leave you here. Didn't we promise never to leave each other?" she said, her voice choked with tears.
"Forget about our promise for now, Freeya. What matters is that you get away and I'll protect you. It's more important for me to be in danger than you. Don't worry, I'll do everything for us," I said, my voice a mixture of urgency and love.
Boss: "How sweet, huh? But sorry. Because mercy is not in me... Attack them!" the Boss said, his voice a cold command.
"Run, I said!" I shouted angrily at Freeya, my heart pounding in my chest.
Driven by fear, Freeya ran away. Meanwhile, I blocked the three men to prevent them from catching Freeya.
"I will protect you, Freeya. No matter what happens. Even if it costs my life," I whispered to myself, my resolve hardening as I saw the men quickly approaching me.
I was lucky enough to dodge his first punch. When I found an opportunity, I tried to kick him in the side without him noticing.
"Argh!" he yelled in pain.
I attempted to run away again, but suddenly another man charged at me, wielding a weapon.
"Damn it!" I cursed to myself.
"Fuck!" I shouted as I noticed another person approaching with a knife.
"Oh, you're too slow! Can't you take me down?" I said jokingly, trying to maintain a facade of confidence despite the growing fear.
He became irritated and even angrier, so he charged at me again with the bulky man accompanying him.
"I'm going to kill you!" he shouted in anger.
I stopped in my tracks when I realized that I was surrounded by them. "This isn't good," I thought, my heart sinking.
One of them picked up a club, another held a knife, and another had a gun.
"What are you now, kid?" they laughed at me, their laughter a chilling sound.
It's infuriating! Where is Freeya? I hope she asked for help... And get out of here.
Meanwhile, Freeya hadn't gotten far when she saw me being surrounded by four men while she hid behind a large tree, her heart pounding in her chest.
I couldn't move as two men suddenly grabbed me from behind, their hands like iron clamps.
Boss: "Poor thing, kid! What now? Are you just going to stay here?" the Boss said, his voice dripping with cruel amusement. He took the club from his companion and toyed with it in front of me.
Richie: "Please, let me go. Have mercy. I'm about to get married, so please leave me alone," I pleaded with them, my voice a desperate plea. But they ignored me and struck me on the head with the club.
"We need to find that woman so we can figure out how to find the one who wronged us," one of them said, his voice cold and calculating.
Richie: "Don't you dare touch my wife and my sister, please. Let her go, have mercy," I spoke weakly, blood trickling down from my forehead.
Boss: "Haha! Did you hear that? Mercy! Do we have that?" the Boss said, his voice a mocking laugh. He took out the gun and pointed it at me.
Boss: "Don't worry, kid! You'll be reunited with your beloved. After we've had our fill with her, we'll come for you next, right, guys?" the Boss said, his voice a chilling promise. They laughed while looking at me, my body weak and covered in blood.
Meanwhile, Freeya couldn't stop crying as she watched me being beaten by them. She couldn't just stand there and watch...
Freeya: "Richie!" she cried out, her voice a desperate plea.
