Zah'rai finished getting her materials ready and setting them up next to the chair she used for her clients.

A ding came through to her phone, causing her to check it and see a text on her lockscreen.

-Yo I'm outside-

She texted him back, saying he could come inside and that he could come upstairs to her room.

Soon, she heard a soft knock, making her open the door.

"Wassup Rai, you look good." Jah's deep voice mumbled, letting his small lisp be heard slightly. Something he was extremely insecure about.

She was dressed in a simple skims long-sleeve top with a pair of plaid pajama shorts. Her black square glasses were placed on her face, and her natural hair was in a messy ponytail.

In his eyes, her honey caramel brown skin was glowing, and she was simply just beautiful. The boy had a massive crush on Zah'rai and had it maintained throughout the year that the two had been friends.

"Thank you, 'jahni." She used his nickname for him.

"We ca' watch sum?" He asked her while sitting down in the chair next to her vanity.

"Yeah, that's fine." She handed him the remote that attached to her Samsung gold frame tv.

He nodded before navigating his was through the tv until he landed on Netflix.

"Ooo, turn on Gilmore Girls." Zah'rai smiled, seeing him scroll past the continue watching row.

"You be watchin' that white ass shit?" He mugged.

"Yeah..." She replied lowly, starting to feel embarrassed.

"Lame ass shit bruh." He muttered, clicking on it to play the show.

"Alright, sit still, I'm about to start." She took a clump of loc jam, placing it on the back of her hand.

Zah'rai took his hair out of the ponytail it was being held in and sprayed it down with her loc mixture. Taking each loc, she palm-rolled them one by one until his entire head was finished before putting castor oil and then mousse in his locs.

"Can I take pictures of your head?" She asked permission first, like usual. He didn't respond, so she looked down to see him fully engulfed in the show.

"Ahjahni." She tapped his shoulder, making him zone back into reality with a 'hm'.

"I can take a picture?" She repeated herself, smirking at a bit at the fact of him tuned into the 'lame ass' show.

"Yeahh. My fault, ma." He muttered lowly.

"Mhmm." She lowly hummed, setting up her ring light and putting her phone on the stand.

She moved the rolling chair around to get different angles before announcing that she was finished.

"Do you want to stay or you leaving?" She asked softly.

"I got to go home befo' my mama start tripping an' shit.' He responded lowly.

"Alright. I'll see you in the morning." She smiled while he stood up, dusting his pants off.

"Lemme cashapp you right quick." He said, unlocking his phone and going to the app where he paid her $70 dollars. The original $50 dollars, plus his tip.

"It went through." She announced once, seeing the notification pop up on her lock screen.

"Ight, i'a see you lata." He spoke as he walked out.

"Bye Ahjahni."
