Wind and Snow brings Love

I got a little rusty in writing, so I'm using this as an opportunity to recover.

AshxMay fanfiction, mainly Christmas-themed. Inspired by a story I read a long time ago, but I couldn't find it, unfortunately.

Mature characters. (No there ain't no lemons here)

This is an Amourshipping account but I'll post my other shenanigans on fanfiction.net eventually.

"いつまでも　君といたいと" 

On this particular winter day, a unique blend of cold and warmth fills the air, as the radiant morning sun finds its way through the curtains. The soft golden glow gently awakens the sleeping boy, who has lustrous dark hair and an earthy set of eyes. As he began stirring up, he couldn't help but form a smile.

Perhaps, the anticipation of meeting his girlfriend after many months brings the odd sensation of warmth. 

Slowly, the young adult got out of bed and opened the curtains, unleashing the clear morning sunshine in all its glory. He opened the windows to their apartment in Petalburg City, letting a gust of chilly wind inside, causing him to shiver. The sky was clear and blue, and not a cloud was seen in the distance, letting him view the substantial city in full. The weather was just right, seemingly like Arceus had planned for their reunion.

Ash carefully selected his outfit that morning, a simple dark blue patterned flannel jacket, along with a pair of dark green trousers, something that made him feel confident and comfortable. He then proceeded to groom his messy hair, ensuring that he looked his best for the special occasion. As he finished the final touches, he did a small pose in front of the mirror,

"May would love this." He thought to himself and smiled.

May had just got off a plane and taken the train to Petalburg city, after coming back from a 5-month trip to Kalos. The couple were relatively okay with keeping their relationship long-distance, but their hearts still ached for the warmth of each other's embrace. 

As May's train pulled into the station, she noticed how much had changed about the city. A few years ago, there was not much except for a few tall buildings, but now it was a full-scale city, completed with multiple shopping malls and residential areas. Her heart raced with anticipation as she stepped onto the platform and scanned the crowd, her eyes searching for her lovely boyfriend.

Eventually, she spotted him, standing by a large Christmas tree. Her cheeks were slightly rosey upon seeing what he decided to wear, she always thought he looked extra handsome when wearing that flannel jacket. Despite May's growth and experience over the years, finally reuniting with Ash after so many days made her feel like a teenager experiencing love for the first time all over again. So just like a love-struck teenager, she decided to be a little wreckless around Ash.

Ash was standing near the Christmas tree when he saw May's train arrive, suddenly, he felt like a thousand Vivillons were fluttering in his stomach, causing his whole body to tremble with anticipation. 

"What am I going to say to her when she arrives?" The raven-haired boy thought to himself.

He brushed that thought aside, as he scanned the train station for any signs of his brunette girlfriend.

He was about to get moving when suddenly out of nowhere, a pair of warm hands covered his eyes. A familiar sweet scent entered his senses along with the tender touch of lips on his cheek.

"Hi, Ash!" May hummed into her boyfriend's ear, resting her chin on his shoulder, while still covering his eyes with her delicate hands.

"May! You're here!" Ash squealed slightly, as he went to take his girlfriend's hands off his eyes, however, May kept her hands firmly on his eyes.

"May?!" Ash spoke with alarm, confused at his sweetheart's actions. "Please let go, I wanna see you..!" 

May let out a mischievous chuckle "You gotta pay a price before you can see me...hehe."

"Well, what would that be?" Ash responded. 

"I don't know, maybe a kiss and the feel of your warm embrace?" May answered. Her cheeks flushed at the words she just said, but that didn't bother her. 

"I wanted to do that either way, whether you asked or not anyway," Ash stated, as he pulled May into his embrace. May smiled as she was taken into her boyfriend's arms, tightly holding onto him as well.

They stood there for a while, enjoying each other's embrace, neither of them showing interest in letting go. After months of separation, they can finally be together again, they are both happy just like this. 

After a while, May finally spoke. "Ash, do you still love me?" May murmured into Ash's chest, expressing her doubt. "I know I've been away for so long..." A few tears manage to escape her eyes...

Ash felt his jacket dampen a little bit, as he took May a little closer, "May...it doesn't matter how long you were away. I'm here and I'm not letting go." 

"Ash..." May said in a suppressed voice, as she lifted her head up, still locked in Ash's embrace. "Yeah...you're right, and I'm not letting go either, you can count on me!" She then rose to her toes and aggressively pressed her lips against her sweetheart's, bringing them into a deep, passionate kiss.

As they kissed, they left like months of loneliness and emptiness all faded away. Their minds were only filled with how each other's lips tasted, and how close they were. They held on tighter as if they were never going to see each other again.

Eventually, they remembered that they did indeed have to breathe and disengaged from the kiss. May let Ash hold her, after all these days, she's finally back with the one whose embrace made her feel safe. So, she simply let her body melt into his arms.

"Never leave me like that ever again," Ash said as they separated from the kiss, tightly holding on to his brunette's soft, delicate hands.

"I wouldn't dare," May replied in a soft yet affirmative tone. Their eyes met, and an unspoken understanding passed between them. This was only the beginning of their love story.
