I walk along the streets watching the vendors. The smells of Mantell Mix and smoked meats drift through the air as the night is cool and crisp. I had to get some fresh air. My mind was still thinking of the rogue clones. How were they different? What were they doing when Order 66 happened?
I sigh as I walk the streets, not looking for anything in particular, just trying to clear my mind so I can think straight. Maybe I just needed to stop thinking. Thinking caused me to panic, to not breathe. If I could just stop thinking, things would be so much easier.
About a hour later I walk into Cids. It was dead, but a few people in booths and at tables talking amongst themselves. I spot Cid behind the bar and take a seat.
"What you doing here girl? Your never here when you don't need to be.." she sat a glass in front of me and poured a clear liquid. I down it as soon as she pours, not even caring what was in it. The familiar burn to the back of my throat seemed to clear that up."Couldn't sleep.."
She sighs "Are you still huffy about my crew, listen to me girl.. they aren't like the others. I may be shady but I wouldn't do that, out of respect to your family."
"What do you mean they aren't like the others? I mean I have eyes, I know they don't look like the other clones exactly but..." Cid pours another in my glass and I down it.
"Slim.. what happened to your mother was terrible, what happened to the Jedi was terrible.. but you need to find a way to heal, otherwise you're going to walk this world alone and not trusting anyone.." she speaks quietly so I am the only one who can hear her.
"All I know about them is that when all of it went down, they didn't follow like their brothers, they deserted."
I swallow hard staring down into my empty glass.
"Doesn't mean I trust them." I mumble.
"True, but you can't hate them for something they didn't-" her words cut off as she looked over my shoulder. I scrunch my eyebrows and turn and see Wrecker standing behind me.
She sighs and looks at me "Just think about what I said." She walks away without another word, leaving me and Wrecker by ourselves.
I hear the chair scrape against the floor next to me and Wrecker sits.
"Hey grumpy." He smirks.
"Drop dead." I roll my eyes as I reach over the bar and pull the bottle from its holder and pour myself a tall glass
"Your a feisty little thing aren't you?" He looks at me with a crooked grin.
I chug the drink and let the burn simmer before speaking.
"You can call it whatever you want, I like to think I'm charismatic." I fake smile and start drinking from the bottle. This man was insufferable.
He grabs the bottle from my hand and takes a swig before setting it down on the other side of him. I go to reach over and grab the bottle and he scoots it even further away from me.
"You should take it easy mesh'la.. I bet you're a lush." He chuckles to himself before taking another sip from the bottle. His white eye winking at me playfully.
I narrow my eyes and my hands ball into fists.
I try to reach for it again and he holds it high in the air. My blood is boiling at this point. This giant brute was getting on my last nerve and I am about to explode.
"Give me the bottle!" I snarl trying to reach up on my tip toes to snatch it. He was acting like a child, a big annoying child.
"What's wrong darlin'? Can't reach?" He laughs even more before I finally leap up and grab the bottle from him.
