*Note to Reader: This book takes place during the 7th book, when Harry is going to the forbidden forest to sacrifice himself to Lord Voldemort because he believes that it is the only way to defeat Voldemort and save the wizarding world. Harry's decision to sacrifice himself is based on his understanding of the prophecy that states that either he or Voldemort must die at the hands of the other for the conflict to end. Additionally, Harry's willingness to die is also influenced by his desire to protect his friends and loved ones from Voldemort's wrath. Also, remember, Harry does not realise he is the master of death yet*

                                                                                              ---

Harry couldn't believe the two objects in his hands were nearly 800 years old; he also couldn't believe that one of them would help him see his parents again.

All his life, Harry had nearly everything in life. He had good friends, money, and okay grades. The only thing Harry did not have were parents. And, well, the ability to be a normal teenager was not on the run from evil wizards.

But Harry didn't care that Voldemort had basically ruined his life; he didn't care that he was entwined with a destiny that prophecied that there was a 50/50 chance he could die!

But the one thing that had kept him awake every night, as he tossed and turned in his bed, was all those who had died because of him and that stupid prophecy.

All those things he could've done but didn't to save them. All those people could've been alive and laughing and enjoying their lives with Harry, but they couldn't because he didn't try hard enough.

He looked down at his hand and at the resurrection stone in his hand. Wiping his tears with the sleeve of his jacket, he told himself that after tonight, once he sacrificed himself, nobody would suffer anymore. The war would finally be over. Even though all those people had died, he would make sure no one else did.

He looked back down at his hands at the invisibility cloak and the resurrection stone. He put the cloak on and focused on the stone. He wanted to see his parents before he joined them. He closed his eyes and turned the stone over in his hand three times.

His parents, Sirius and Lupin, appeared in front of him. Ghostly wisps. Not alive or dead. Lily smiled at him sadly.

'You've been so brave.'

Harry stood silently as he watched his mother silently push her long hair back. It helped him see her eyes. The ones that everyone told him he had. Those beautiful green eyes.

'You're nearly there," said James. 'Very close. We are... so proud of you.'

'Does it hurt?'

The childish question had escaped his lips before he could stop it. It was barely a whisper, but he knew everyone had heard it.

'Dying? Not at all,' said Sirius. 'Quicker than falling asleep.'

'You'll stay with me?'

'Until the very end,' said James

Harry nodded and set off deeper into the forest. He marched through the old trees that clumped together and the branches that snagged at his messy hair. Harry clutched his cloak tightly around him as the chilly air nipped at his skin. Besides him were Lily, James, Sirius, and Lupin, silently walking besides him. Their presence makes him feel better.

Eventually, Harry stepped out into a clearing. There was a fire, and surrounded by it were watchful death eaters awaiting his arrival.

'No sign of him, my lord,' whispered a death eater, not wanting his master to get angry with him.
