I got dressed and limped for my shoes. I just had sex with my boyfriend, but like usual, he didn't listen to me at all. Now I'm sore and unsatisfied.
"Can you get me a pack of smokes if I give you my card?" he asked.
I nodded. I grabbed my wallet and my headphones and left. I texted my friend Ally and asked her to grab my bag. I kept a spare bag at her house in case I wanted to leave. It has $500, four outfits, and all my papers/documents that I may need. She asked where to meet me and I said the store. From: Randell
You didn't take my card. Do you have enough? You better cause the lease is up tomorrow. I'd hate to take you off itTo: Randell
I have enough, don't worryI put my phone in my pocket and crossed the street. As I approached the store, I saw Ally running with my bag on her shoulders. I smiled a bit and waved her down. She smiled back and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.
"Are you okay? What happened?" she asked, as we entered the store.
"Hey, I was just about to get off, do you want a ride?"
I looked up to see Issac.
"Where'd that bruise come from?" he asked, pointing to my neck.
I looked at Ally. I noticed Rick peeking over the counter to see as well. He gasped. I didn't even notice before I left or I would have warned her.
"That's what happened, kind of," I said. "We got into an argument earlier and he refused to let it go until we had sex. He knows I like to be choked a little, but when I tried telling him that he was being too rough, he just held tighter until I stopped talking. He didn't leave his hand there for long, but I guess it was long enough to leave an impression."
"Didn't have his-" Issac stuttered. "He left a fucking mark on you, Chloe! And let me guess, you, AGAIN, didn't want to have sex but said yes so he'd shut up."
"You don't understand," I said, tearing up.
"You're right, I don't understand. I don't understand how you could let that jackass do this to you weekly. Is that your bag?"
I nodded.
"Give it to me," he said. "We're getting the rest of your things."
"No, if he finds out you're there, it's going to cause so many problems. I'll leave, I will just let me do it."
"When?"
"Now, I promise," I said. "I just need to grab a pack of smokes and a drink."Issac, Ally, and I walked up to my apartment door. They agreed to wait outside if I unlocked the door. I agreed to that. My hands shook as I opened the door. I discreetly unlocked it before closing it again. He was playing his game but walked over when he saw me.
"I'm back," I said.
"Finally," he said. "What took you so long?"
He snatched the cigarettes out of my hand.
"You don't like it when I go to the gas station, so I had to walk to the only open store thirty minutes away."
"Let me see the receipt then," he said.
"I didn't get one," I said, walking towards the couch. "I usually don't ask for one."
"Usually, when you use my card, you bring a receipt back."
"I used my card though," I said. "I never brought your card, it's still on the table."
"Are you calling me a liar? Cause I can do a lot worse than making you shut up."
I put my head down and said no. He huffed and went to the bathroom to smoke. I started crying as I packed up my essentials. I was so scared that I never heard the door.
"Where are you going? Do you think you're leaving me?" he asked, getting louder with every word.
"Ally asked if I could sleep over, I thought it would be fine."
"It's not fine," he said. "I want round two after the trouble you caused me."
He started unbuckling his belt.
"I don't want to," I said. "I'm still sore from the last time."
He took his belt off and tightened it in his hands.
"I don't remember asking, princess," he sneered. "Now get on your knees!"
I flinched and silently begged Issac to open the door.
"Please," I said, getting on my knees. "I don't want to."
"You're going to listen to me. You've been mouthy lately. Time to put it to good use."
He unzipped his pants but before he could take it out again, the door burst open.
"Police department, freeze!"
I backed up as he put his hands up. I started crying in a ball in the corner. I heard footsteps coming closer.
"Ma'am? Are you alright?"
I looked up to see a female officer with her hand stretched out. I grabbed her hand and she lifted me.
"Do you want to tell me what happened?"
I shook my head. She turned and nodded. Another officer escorted Randell out in cuffs. When he walked through the door, he started hollering.
"I knew it! You've been cheating on me this whole time. You're a big slut! I don't know why I ever wanted you!"
"Sir! If you hit him again, I'll have you arrested too."
"I'd gladly go to jail for defending her," Issac said.
Isaac and Ally walked in after that. Issac rushed to my side and I cried in his arms.
"Do you want to tell me now? Or would you rather do it at the hospital?"
"Why the hospital?" Ally asked.
"Because of the bruising on her neck and her obvious distress, paired with the phone call and scene we walked into, I think it would be best if we take her to the hospital."
"I don't wanna go," I said, calming down.
"Ma'am, even if you tell me what happened, you still need to get checked out."
"Can't a paramedic do it?"
"You also need a therapist, which the hospital can provide," she reasoned.
"I have an appointment tomorrow," I said. "Please, I don't want to go to the hospital."
"We can check her out here," a paramedic said.
The officer nodded. They started taking my vitals as I answered the officer. They had to ask Issac and Ally to leave the room so they could do a rape kit. Ally also had to give a statement because she had called the police.
"I wasn't raped," I said.
"You told him no, Chloe," Issac called from the other room. "That's rape."
"Test her anyway please," the officer said. "Now will you please explain what happened with the bruise?"
By the time I was done explaining, they had finished the rape kit. They said there was evidence of it being forced.
"You also have some bruising on your hips," the paramedic said.
The officer called Issac back into the room, but Ally was still giving her statement. Issac wrapped his arms around me.
"So Randall is staying with us overnight," the officer said. "Would you want to stay here for the night and we'll call you if he gets bailed out?"
"No thank you," Issac said. "She'll be staying with me tonight."
"I can stay with Ally for the night," I countered. "My phone will be on at all times, so if something does happen, you can contact me."
"Final question," the officer said. "Did something like this ever happen before?"
"Just once," I said, putting my head down. "I was drinking that night and I must have done something to upset him."
"What happened, miss?"
Issac held my hand. "Please tell us."
"You'd look at me differently," I said, starting to tear up. "I should've left when it happened, and I didn't. You're going to hate me."
"I could never," he said. "Just please, tell me what happened."
"It was our one-year anniversary," I said. "He used to be the sweetest guy, but something about that day made him either change or show his true colors. We went on an amazing date, had dinner at Applebee's, and then a walk in the park. I had a few drinks with dinner. I had offered to pay, but he kept saying that it was his idea, so he'd pay. If I was that upset about it, I could pay him back later. I wish I could go back in time..." I took a deep breath. "He showed me this trail he used to hike when he went to the college here."~Flashback Starts~
"How was the date?" Randall asked as we crossed the bridge.
"Perfect," I smiled. "I still don't know how I'll make it up to you. If you want, I can pay for the next one."
"I'm sure we can work something out," he smirked.
He started rubbing my arm gently, and then slowly wandered over to my breast. I pushed his hand away.
"I'm sorry," I said. "But I'd rather wait till I feel like I'm not going to throw up."
"Why not?" he asked. "I paid for everything. You have to put out."
"No I don't," I said, regretting coming out.
I turned to leave, but he followed me. He grabbed my arm and pushed me against a nearby tree.
"You have to," he said. "I spent a lot of money on you. Now it's your turn to give me something."
He started pushing my dress up. I started to kick him and he turned me around, so my front was against the tree. He pulled my hips back towards him.
"No one comes out here," he said, teasingly.
He ripped my underwear off and pulled his shorts down. I started to cry and plead. He smacked my ass.
"Be quiet," he said. "You're spoiling the mood. But oh god, you look so fucking good. I can't wait to fuck you."
Before I could move, he plunged into me, knocking the air out of my lungs. He moaned in ecstasy. He pulled out almost completely and rammed back in. I screamed.
"Quiet baby girl," he said, kissing my shoulder.
He kept thrusting into me. I kept struggling and begging him to stop. He finally stopped and pulled out of me.
"You like this baby?" he asked, kissing my neck.
He slammed back into me. I tried to kick his leg, but he pushed me to the ground. He forced my head down into the pine needles and pulled my hips against him again. He entered me in one rough thrust. I finally gave up, knowing I couldn't get away. I heard him groan and thought he was mad. He kissed my neck and gave me a few hickies before he finally finished. He cleaned me up and carried me to the car. He kissed my forehead and promised to make it up to me, for being a good girl. I cried silently in the car.~Flashback Ends~
"Why did you stay?" Issac asked, astounded.
"He convinced me that it was a bad dream. He wouldn't do it in real life," I said, pathetically. "He was still rough, but never forced it like that again."
"Cause he found a way around it," he sneered. "All he had to do was throw a hissy fit when you said no, and then he'd get his way."
"I'm not sure what to say anymore," I said. "Everything that I want to say just sounds like I'm excusing him. There isn't anything else to say."
