September 2023. Summer and its days and nights of endless, reckless fun had come to an end and Heidi had to return to Fermata, that dumpy high school in the most stereotypical provincial town anyone could ever imagine.
"Wow, senior year!", Heidi sighed inwardly. She was in Saint Laurent beach sitting by the shore, contemplating the calm sea with a strange mix of feelings inside her, a strange mix of nostalgia, happiness and sadness for all those good times that, unfortunately, had come to their inevitable end. She smirked and grabbed a handful of sand in each hand, closed her eyes and threw the sand into the air shouting "BEST SUMMER EVER!!!".
She extended her arms, threw herself on the soft sand and there she remained, still, with that characteristic smile of hers drawn on her round face, looking at the sky until sunset.
...What a beautiful sunset it was!
Sunset. That was the moment after which Heidi stood up, shook the sand off her delicate clothing and her totebag, and went home to finish the final preparations for going back one last year to the Fermata high school, a place she presumably would never return after finishing this upcoming school year.
