I wake up and head over to my friend, Yo Yo Ball's room, who had just exited. Today was his first day of school and as usual, he was depressed.
The 2 of us live with 7 other people, all 9 of us being ECs or Enneagram Characters.
He's been meeting with his therapist lately and suggested that he write his own pep talk letters to motivate himself to stay positive.

Water Bottle: Have you been writing those letters to yourself? Dear Yo Yo Ball Adjusting, todays going and here's why!

Yo Yo Ball: I... well I started one.

Water Bottle: those letters aren't that important bro so don't stress. They're just to help you build your confidence.

Yo Yo Ball: I guess.

School doesn't start for another hour so the two of us just chill. While he's in the bathroom, I watch TV with Stoneplush.

Water Bottle: Can we try to have an optimistic outlook? Huh? Can we buck up just enough to see the world won't fall apart?
Maybe this year, we decide
We're not giving up before we've tried
This year, we make a new start

When Yo Yo Ball exits the bathroom, I remembered I had a sharpie in my pocket. He's had his cast on since June. I know we should've signed but I wanted him to open up to others outside our friend group, despite it consisting of 9 people.

Water Bottle: Hey I know!
You can go around today and ask the other kids to sign your cast
How 'bout that?

I tossed Yo Yo Ball the sharpie and he caught it.
Yo Yo Ball: Perfect. Thanks bro.
Water Bottle: no problem bro, proud of you already
Yo Yo Ball: Oh, good

School starts in 19 minutes and already we were all in a hassle. Envelope and Frisbee were watching the news, Glue and Nabla were fighting with Alef and I don't know about the other 3. Yes 3.

Lyre: it's your first day of 8th grade Whoopee Cushion and you are not going to miss the first day.
Whoopee Cushion: I already said I'm going tomorrow.
Envelope: HES NOT LISTENING! LOOK AT HIM! HE'S PROBABLY HIGH NOW!
Leek: he's definitely high.
Lyre: HE IS NOT HIGH!!
Despite my yelling, nobody cares. I roll my eyes and was about to tell Whoopee Cushion to just go but then as I watch him play on his 3DS, I see he was high.
Lyre: I DONT WANT YOU GOING TO SCHOOL HIGH WHOOPEE CUSHION!
Whoopee Cushion: Good. So then I won't go. THANKS LYRE!

And with that, he leaves out the door with his school bag doing who knows what. Hopefully walking to school.

Lyre: Another masterful attempt ends with disaster
Envelope: Interstate's already jammed
Lyre: Pour another cup of coffee
And watch it all crash and burn
Toothpick: Connor finished the milk!
Lyre: It's a puzzle, it's a maze
I tried to steer through it a million ways
But each day's another wrong turn
Alef: I better head out
Glue: If Whoopee Cushion's not ready, I'm leaving without him!

Lyre: Does (L/WB) anybody have a map?
Happen to know how the hell to do this?

The last of summer ends when both Yo Yo Ball and Whoopee Cushion head into the school and thus begin the first day and chapter.
