Lillian Lockhart was in no way anticipating the year ahead of herself.
The rather large manor sat on its old same hill. Lillian sat awake in her bed, staring up at the ceiling as nerves sat in the pit of her stomach. Lillian hasn't had the most successful education back at Beauxbatons. Lillian wasn't like the typical beauxbaton girls. she didn't hold such class, and arrogance, although her family was quite that. Being the daughter of Gilderoy Lockhart didn't give the girl the best reputation.
"Lillian dear, we're leaving soon." her mother shouted from down in the kitchen. the smell of freshly cooked eggs filled lillian's nostrils now. "alright, coming mum!" Lillian stated loud enough for her mother to hear. Lillian's father wasn't very present in her life. it was usually just her and her mother.
Lillian with great nerves, slowly grabbed her uniform, the Hogwarts crest resting over her chest. She then quickly pulled on her robe, that was plain black. Lillian didn't know what house she'd be sorted in, but doing some research she secretly hoped she'd be sorted into Gryffindor. Lillian recalled having traits of a typical Gryffindor student.
Lillian rushed downstairs, her trunk in her hand. Her mother silently laughed at her rather messy look. "You could've at least tried to brush your hair lily." Her mother huffed lightly. Lillian simply ignored her mother's comment as she tucked into her eggs and toast eagerly. Whilst Lillian ate, her mother tended to her messy locks. "I'm not five mum, I think I can brush my own hair." Lillian swatted her mother's hand away in a huff, before she quickly finished her food. "Let's get going mum, please I can't be late for the train on my first day."
Lillian was overly nervous. She was a confident girl, yes, But she certainly got nervous when it came to building new friendships. She never had much friends at beauxbatons, so she couldn't help but hope that she'd fit in just a little better at Hogwarts.
Lillian's mother listened to her daughter's commands and grabbed her keys. Lillian picked up her trunk, and ran quickly out the front door, right to their front driveway. Lillian threw her trunk carelessly into the back of the car, before jumping into the passenger seat. "Be careful would you, you'll break the bloody window if you keep that up." Her mother scolded the young girl quietly before she got into the car herself, starting the car off quickly.she slowly started to drive out of the drive, as they hit the end of the drive, the car slowly started to rise, and in a matter of seconds the car was soaring through the air, above the clouds.
Lillian took the quiet car ride as a time to pull herself together. Her heart was practically pounding out of her chest. Her nails marked her palms as she kept a rough fist to ease some tension. It was a habit of Lillian's that her mother often scolded her for. Lillian's mother realised what the younger girl was doing and quickly smacked her hand to make the younger girl stop. "I get you're stressed lily, you need to stop with that." Lillian huffed and just nodded in silence.
The car slowly started moving toward the ground as they arrived at the train station. Lillian hopped out of the car quickly, too afraid of being late on her very first day at the institution. She grabbed her trunk, running quickly into the station. Her mother couldn't help but laugh as she ran after the nervous girl. Once they reached the peculiar platform, they slowly walked through the bricks, and quickly down the ramp. Lillian was rushing too quickly and bumped into a large figure, causing her trunk to fall to the ground.
Lillian gulped lightly as she looked up in embarrassment, a tall red head boy looking right down at her. "Merlin, I'm so sorry." Lillian quickly grabbed her trunk whilst the boy laughed it off. "That's alright, not to worry." The boy bent down slowly to help her with the trunk. "Presume you're new huh? Haven't seen you around before. I'm Fred, and that's George." The tall boy pointed to another boy, who was identical to him. Lillian smiled softly as she nodded, turning to introduce herself briefly. "I'm Lillian Lockhart, nice to meet you." Lillian smiled softly at the two. "We best get going. nice talking to you, Lillian." Fred threw her his lopsided smile and Lillian couldn't help but ease as she met somebody already.
She then turned to her mother, who stood there proudly, her glossy eyes on show for her daughter. "Oh mum don't be so dramatic." Lillian giggled quietly at her mums almost proudness on show for her daughter. Lillian wrapped her arms tightly around her mother. "You best write to me, every week! I mean it Lillian." Her mother spoke sternly to her daughter. Lillian just simply laughed but nodded. "I will, I promise." Lillian gave her mother one last smile, before she turned toward the platform. She slowly got onto the train, waving at her mother excitedly before moving down the platform, looking for a compartment to sit in for the long journey ahead.
Lillian being too ashamed to walk into a compartment full of people she was unfamiliar with, she decided to sit in on her own. She placed her trunk on the overhead of the seats, before she sat down quietly, her head against the window. Just as Lillian got caught in her thoughts, she slowly was broken from then when the compartment door slowly opened, revealing a bushy haired girl, with a toothy smile planted on her face. "Is it alright if we sit here, all the other compartments are full." Hermione exclaimed, running her hands through her hair. "Course you can." Lillian said briefly, but politely a smile on her face as she introduced herself. "I'm Lillian lockhart, lovely to meet you." Lillian introduced herself also to the two boys who entered the room behind her. One boy was just like the boy she had bumped into on the platform, but younger, and shorter. "Ron weasleys my name, and that's Harry, Harry Potter." Ron spoke smugly as he introduced the boy with a clear scar on his forehead.
Lillian stared blankly at the boy, her mind running freely before she pulled herself together. Harry just smiled awkwardly, nodding as if to say it was him. "It's lovely to meet you both." Lillian smiled softly at the three before Hermione moved on to make further conversation.
"Seeing as you're new, what house are you hoping for?" Hermione shrugged as she was just curious, Lillian then quickly replied. "Gryffindor I hope. My whole family have been sorted into Gryffindor." Lillian nodded with a smile. "Well thank god for that, we're all gryffindors here, so hopefully you are too." Ron said with his odd smile as he tucked into sweets that his mother had packed for him for the train ride.
As the trio went into their own conversation, Lillian tried her best to recall what was outside of the train compartment, her head leaning softly against the thick glass. Although she clearly failed as the only thing that could fill her mind was the embarrassing encounter that took place with the younger weasleys older brother.
