Chapter 2:

After you got home from one of the most memorable days of your life, you proceeded to go upstairs to your room. You removed your dress and heels, as well as makeup and jewelry, and slipped into some comfy shorts and an XL t-shirt. You looked at your diploma and written on the front was: This High School Diploma was issued to Y/F/N Y/L/N on May 21, 2015. Congratulations on completing 4 wonderful years of high school. You still couldn't believe you actually did it. You knew your grandmother was looking down on you in heaven. So proud of her granddaughter. You placed the diploma on your desk and walked over to your bed. You heard a knock at your door. "Yes?" It was your mother. You lived with your mom for the past 12 years after her and your dad split up. At first it was weird because you were used to seeing both your mom and dad together in the same house. Now it was just mom and her boyfriend Fred. You didn't hate them for splitting up, but it did make things a bit difficult to handle along with being a teenager. Your mother walks through the door, along with your dad, and looks at you with tears. "Y/N, your father and I just wanted to tell you how proud we are of you to be the first one in your family to graduate high school and soon go off to college. We wanted to give you this as a graduation gift." She hands you a brand new laptop to be able to use when you start college. It's just what you wanted to start off the next school year. You smile at both of them and give them big hugs. "Thank you guys so much. It means a lot to me to know that you guys are always gonna be there for me, even through my hardest times." They both smile at you and say,"Honey, we'll always be here. Even though we aren't together, we're still your parents and we're not going anywhere." Your dad says he has to head back home. He gives you a hug and kiss goodbye and your mother shows him downstairs. You set aside your brand new laptop to use later. You wanted to see if Harry might want to hang out tonight or sometime tomorrow. You didn't care what you were gonna do, as long as you were with him. You texted him. "Hey. Are you up to hang out tonight?" You waited for him to reply. As you waited, you heard your house phone ring. It was Kathryn. You answered. "Hey babes." "Hey. Oh my gosh, can believe we finally did this. We're out of high school. This is insane." "Yeah, I know. I still can't believe it." "You ok? You seem a bit off." "Yea, no I'm fine. I'm just waiting for Harry to respond back to me." "Oh I see. How are things with him?" "They're fine. He's still the same guy I fell in love with a few years ago." You heard your cell phone go off. It was Harry. "Hey um could I call you later? Harry is on the other line." "UGH! Fine, but you better call me later or I'm gonna blow up your phone with notifications." "Alright alright. Bye, love you." "Love you too. Bye." You looked at your phone and Harry replied with: "hey. no love I can't. I've got this thing with one of my friends. he wanted to hang out later. how about tmrw nite?" You looked confused at the text message. He never usually says no when you ask him to hang out. Hell, he usually just shows up at your house without saying yes or no. But you figured he probably wants to spend time with his friends because he doesn't get to spend time with them that often. But the thing was that you were busy tomorrow night. You were gonna spend the night at Kathryn's house. "Yea, no I'm busy tomorrow night. I'm going to spend the night at Kathryn's house. Maybe another time?" You wait for him to respond. 2 minutes later he writes: "Yea, alright. Sorry babe. We'll try to do something during to week maybe, ok?" "Yea. Ok. I'll talk to you later then. I love you <3." Ok, yea. Love you too. Bye." Harry was acting very, very strange. Maybe he's just nervous about college, but that's not for another two months. You just shook it off. You had to call Kathryn back anyways, so you did just that.
