"Jackie! This is a success, I can't believe you pulled it off!" I exclaim to my sister. "I couldn't have done it without you, I'm just excited for them to get here." We both know who she's refering to, our family. Others come and greet us, talking about how we really 'outdid ourselves.'

"They should be here by now." I remark, looking at the amount of missed calls I've tried to give my mom. "I'm sure there's just lots of traffic, it is a friday." I nod, I'm probably overthinking this, a bad habit of mine. I start talking to some of my friends, laughing and joking. Even some of the boys from the all boys school across the road starts flirting with me. They're only doing that because of my parents and their small touch of fame.

Just then I'm whisked away by my sister. "Jackie? Is everything okay?" I look to see my uncle Richard. What's he doing here? I thought he was on a business trip so he couldn't make it to the fundraisers. "Girls, I need to speak to you." He takes us out into the hallway.

The rest of the noise and chatter suddenly dissappears. My entire world is crumbling.

My family is dead, it's only me and Jackie left.
