"hi, olivia davis," i told the woman at the front desk.
the 'receptionist' wrote something down and pointed down the hallway with her pen, uninterested in saying one word to me. i nodded to myself, starting to walk in the direction she gave me. i crossed my arms and shivered, getting into the back of the audition line. i went over my lines for a few more minutes as the line shifted very slowly. there had to be at least 60 people in front of me trying out for the same role.
my agent found this audition for me a few weeks ago, and ever since then i have been in love with the character, samantha. the movie is a drama film about a girl who is getting over the death of her mother but finds out about her past at the same time. the part of the script i got is truly amazing in my opinion. i really hope i get the part.
oh, and did i mention milo is also auditioning for this movie? im not completely sure what his character that he is casting for is, but i know he is in the building across from this right now probably way ahead of me in a line. he will most likely be finished way before me. we drove here together so he will need to wait ages.
i pulled out my phone and clicked on his contact, deciding to send him a quick text.

sooner than i knew it, i was only a few people away from the audition room. i bit my lip as the line shifted once again, and i scanned my script once more. milo has been done for about half an hour already and is on his way back from starbucks. we have always had this rule where we tell each other about how auditions went in person, never over the phone or text so we can give each other big hugs. you always deserve a hug if you did good, or if you didn't do good. our audition hugs were always spectacular.
"next!" i heard a man say from inside the room as the girl in front of me walked out of the room with a frown.
i walked in confidently and introduced myself to the casters.
"please start on line 7," the woman in the middle said.
i nodded and read through the script, trying my hardest. the casting directors had little to no expressions or emotions plastered on their faces so i couldn't really tell if i was doing good or bad.
towards the end of the script, the man on the left cut in, "i think that is all we need, we have our perspective and you did great mrs. davis. you will be reached out to if you get the part."
"have a nice day olivia," the woman on the right said.
i smiled at all of them, "thank you!"
