"You can't run forever Kill! You better shove your ass back here!"

Instead of listening to him like I always do, I picked up my pace and forced myself to be quicker. Despite the huge distance earlier, he still managed to cut up the chase and almost catch up to me. Thanks to a loose ladder from a nearby building, I narrowly avoided those blood-curdling eyes filled with malice. I climbed up with all my might and lifted the part where the ladder would be touching the ground. With that, I'm pretty high up, but there's no platform, and I'm like a monkey hanging from a ladder.

"Get down here, you prick! You better--"
I didn't even let him finish, and I threw my shoe at his head.

"Why you-!"
"Y-you... keep t-talking.. haa.. and I-ill drop the.. other one.. ha.. ha."
Panting and exhausted, I hold on to dear life, but I know that I will eventually fall down and he'll catch up to me. He's not showing any interest in leaving, so it's either going up that tall back door high above where I am or down where he is at.

There's not much of a choice. I pushed myself up the ladder while ignoring his endless screaming fit.
At the halfway mark of my seemingly endless climb, he had gone quiet. I looked down to see that he was not there anymore. I figured that I could finally go down, but I'm already halfway up, and it'd be much safer for me to continue going up. There's a risk that he's still down there waiting for me if I go down, so it's better for me to climb up.

My hands are hurting much much worse now, but I have reached the door. I hoped for it to be opened, but who am I to be with luck today? It's locked, of course.

Out of exhaustion, I collapsed on the floor beside the door. I took a moment for myself and closed my eyes for a bit. Sleeping seems like a good thing to do right now, but my racing thoughts seem to think otherwise.

The man who chased me earlier is my ex-boyfriend. His name is Theodore Declan, and he took my decision to break up with him as a sign of rebelling against him. He didn't let me leave his house for three days until I escaped. Now, I'm never going back, ever.

If I had known that things would turn out for the worse, I would have accepted that opportunity to study in Venice. Maybe if I did, I wouldn't be here suffering. If I hadn't been too stupid to follow Declan, I should be graduating now. I see how much of an obsessed man I am to fall for him to the extent of throwing everything I have to love him. I should not have done that.

With a slight creak of the door, I jumped upwards. My body hurts still, but I need to be on guard. I can never be too sure.

I wished with every little star that there is tonight for this person in the door to not be him, please.

"You little shit."Just like that, I feel like cold water just landed on me. The shaking of my hands could be hidden, and my face dropped.

No, no! No! His face was filled with a grin, and he was telling me that he had won even if he hadn't spoken a word. I tried to back up as fast as I could, but he chased after me and held me backwards, with my hands locked behind me. I had tried to wriggle myself free from his grasp, but it only made his grip even tighter.

"Let me go, you s©roundel!"I screamed at him, my voice horse and strength little to none compared to him. All I can see is his devilish smile and the darkness completely around my surroundings due to it being near midnight.

"You dimwit, do you even shut up?" He asked with such a terrifying venom in his words. I can feel shivers up my spine, but I can't think of anything but to try and escape from him. I tried pulling my hands, kicking him backwards, and even headbutting him, but it seems that he's made of steel.

"I said, let me--"
He took me by surprise when he yanked my white hair back and kissed me suddenly, stopping me from talking. I feel disgusted. I didn't open my mouth; never would I let him in! But as we struggled, he bit my lower lip, causing me to react and hiss to the pain, and he took the opportunity to gain entry. Being it a choking, unpleasant, and unwanted kiss, I bit his tongue in response. He recoiled back and screamed in pain, but I took the opportunity to run for my life. I didn't look back. I just ran down the never-ending hallway. I can still hear him cursing at me and my ass, but I didn't care.
My feet hurt the most, but I didn't stop running. That is, until I bumped into a man made of steel. His body feels rock hard, and even from the powerful impact, I'm the only one who stumbled backwards.
I felt a little dizzy, and my nose hurts, but the fear I'm feeling is behind me. Without even saying anything, I stood up shakily and tried to run again, but this time, the guy that I bumped into gripped my shoulders hard. I winced at the pain, but all I was focused on was Declan. I still can't see him in the hallway that I came from, but again, I'm too scared to stay in one place knowing he's right behind me.
