1st Dec 2016-
First day of school, I joined when the session was coming to an end. I entered school taking help of teachers,
"Ma'am, where's class 2 B?".
I finally found my class, I was late so everyone was outside for assembly. I kept my bag next to a black bag and went for assembly. When I came back, it was Soumya who was my banchmate. I had a peaceful time with her. But I was piled up for all the work because annuals were near and I don't have the notes. Our class teacher, Sharma mam, wouldn't let me drink water until it was recess. This rule was only for me. I was tired of writing so much. Somehow I made it to end of my class 2.By this time I got used to. I got my nickname, "Sao". I was ready to begin my class 3, this is where my actual journey started. Our class teacher was Indrajeet mam, who taught us Maths. Ofcourse, it didn't took me time to make impression on her. This is why I became class monitor. I gave my first olympiad only IMO & IOM. Maths the only subject where I risked 300rs as registration fees. I scored 1st rank, got selected for second level. I had no idea how to prepare but Indrajeet mam mentored me.
My benchmate was a boy named Abhinav. He was lefty and I was righty. We would have quarrels because we couldn't adjust while writing. We would fight a lot until one while fighting he poked his pencil on my arm. That went so deep that the lead broke and it was still stuck. Somehow I got it off but that was really painful.
I don't have much memory about my class 3, 4 & 5. Class 6 & 7 were online, thanks to covid-19. But class 8 definitely the best year. I don't wanna make it long, I will just tell few major events then tell my class 8.
In class 4, I decided to give a try in all olympiads. I secured 3rd in IEO & NSO. Meantime, a girl named Noorien took admission in our school. We became bestfriends. We both were into olympids so we fit together. The year went smoothly. I scored well so my medals would be distributed the next year.
Class 5 just began, my class teacher, Sarojni mam would teach me maths. Again I had a teacher as my mentor. It was morning assembly, our class's corridor was near to stage, we saw HOD sir arranging medals, I don't but I wasn't sure if my name would be there, I thought that it was medal of art/dance/music. But one girl who was standing in front of me started to doubt, for no reason I denied her. But after prayer, they took my name first. The girl looked me with a weird expression, but I panicked and ran to stage. When I was standing during the national anthem. I was shivering by living that moment.
In class 5, my friends and I would say "the no.of numericals we have in our book, if we had in our bank account then we would be richest person alive". Well, it was true. During class 5, I was facing a problem. I was balancing between Noorien and Soumya who were my 2 besties, I couldn't let them feel left out. Basically I was divided 1/2. The year went pretty smooth too. It was 14 March, I had a 2nd level olympiad to give and we had our paper showing on the same day so I went to exam, but I came to know that paper showing was cancelled due to covid-19. That was the last time I went to school before covid, we had skirts from class 6, but this lockdown.
Skipping to class 8.
First day after Covid, we had assembly. Class 3 students were now in class 6. Huge difference for them. I entered my class, met everyone. and this was the last and my legendary year began. Till summer vacation I was inside the crowd, hiding. And after summer vacation I knew its my time to shine. It was 5 July, I had my table tennis tournament, I had to report at 9 am, till then I had to attend class. The period which was going on was science and I had a pretty strict science teacher. I asked her permission while stuttering.
"Ma'am, I have my tournament so can I go to the ground?"
"yes, you can but, sign in this paper and write your reason."
Yes, she made me sign this contract and allowed me to go, I changed into my jersey, till then it was recess, so the corridors were crowed and ofcourse, walking through there I felt odd like I am in jersey and rest were in uniform.
After match, when I was back home, tired, mummy dragged me to get an eye checkup because my brother got specs with high power. So she doubted that my eyes would get specs too. She was right but I got specs with minimum power, I could still see clearly without it. Then we had holiday for 2 days and the next day I went to school, I wasn't me. I got a new look. Surprise to few of my classmates. What would you expect from your friends after getting specs? A Free Eye Check up! I passed every test by them, I could read the timetable, even from last bench. But still I had to wear them for safety.
