Butterfly significance:

Native Americans have considered butterflies as symbols of transformation, hope, and rebirth. In Chinese culture, the symbolism of butterflies evokes the qualities of freedom, earthly beauty, love, and the human soul. They have inspired humans for millennia with their delicate nature and the immense power they possess.

Iliana: {ih-lee-ah-nuh}

+ The name Iliana is primarily a female name of Greek origin that means Bright. This name likely finds its roots in the Greek word "hēlios", which means "ray of light" or "sun" and may even be a form of the name Helen, best known in Greek mythology as the most beautiful woman in the world.

Yara: {ya-rah}

+ In Arabic, Yara means 'a small butterfly,' while in Persian, Yārā reflects 'courage' or 'strength'. In Brazilian myths based on the ancient Guarani and Tupi cultures, the name translates to 'lady of the lake'.

Trivia:

+ The title: Blood, Snow, Butterflies => Revenge/Death/Pain/The past, Winter/Frozen in time/The present, Hope/Life/New Beginning/The future. Iliana was trapped in a cycle of winter, frozen in time as she lived solely for revenge. A ghost existing in pools of blood and pain, hanging on to a fading past...until Yara appeared. Then, she got a little taste of life and was offered a chance at life, a new beginning where she finally thought of a future where the rivers of blood turned into fluttering butterflies.

+ Iliana means ray of light to signify that she was gonna get her closure as well as a new beginning full of light and a brighter purpose in life. She was meant to be Yara's light, her savior, and her mentor in the future.

+ Yara means a small butterfly to signify a small ray of hope in Iliana's bleak existence. She signifies a new beginning, freedom from the past, and hope. Yara's existence was meant to transform Iliana's.

+ Both characters were meant and named to suit their roles in each other's lives.

+ Yes, Iliana is a vampire and Yara is a werewolf. I chose the baby to be of a different species to Iliana to show that the vampire didn't have a problem with lycans but rather only the rogues. Both can and will coexist. That doesn't mean there is no tension between the two supernatural, however.

+ Yara's father was one of the rogues Iliana killed. He wasn't included in the group when they attacked her village though but he did take part in ruining other villages.

+ Yara's mother was forced by her husband to leave the pack and be a rogue despite her not getting exiled. He was an asshole.

+ Iliana is in her early twenties. Yara is a few months old.

+ Iliana comes from a very powerful line of vampires. When properly trained, they're a menace. However, her clan was very peaceful.

+ This isn't the end but the beginning of these two's story.

I think this is enough :p
